This is the one I have. It's awesome AND the timer dial makes a super satisfying sound when you turn the knob to set it... It's a selling point for me anyway

After adding sounded deadening to my Tacoma, I spent an unnecessary amount of time listening to the door close

 

I need to do that.

I'll have to do it eventually since I'm ditching the rear cubbies for more room for activities aka. Storing a bunch of equipment behind the seats.

On my way to work saw that a plow got a little close to a drain and popped the whole concrete top off, manhole and all. Oops.

I retract any previous positive remarks about the Trac/ABS I may have made or insinuated. Fuck that shit. It literally almost got me killed today.

I like the theory of cool things and generally will vouch for them until I almost die. So yeah, Trac and me aren't talking anymore.

 

what did it do? I know first gen abs is trash, but figured it would be better in 2nd. Abs on my frontier seems to work as intended

 

I’ve ever had issues with abs. Trac can be annoying at times but it’s also saved be a few times

I still miss the mechanical LSD from my 2005

 

Generally, the anti-skid stopping function hasn't caused me any trouble. I plan way ahead for stops and don't have it kick on much when I am braking.

I was in the middle turn lane of 291 Northbound in Liberty making a left turn. The middle lane still has snow and I knew I would lose traction a bit and anticipated that. The problem came when my ass end slid out like a foot or so and the Trac system cut engine throttle down to idle to keep the tires from spinning and side sliding.

Which stopped the truck's forward motion almost entirely while I was perpendicular to oncoming traffic. I was totally that guy in that moment.
