Doesn't work with 2nd Gen Taco. I purchased 2 of them to mod to work, ended up giving to locals to try in FJ Cruiser and 3rd Gen Taco...

Though nice form and a switch I think I will stay with my original for the price.

Just took one of my x2power batteries back to the store I purchased, I am thinking there is some sort of internal short as it is depleting very fast from 12.8v to 12.4 in six hours. Good thing I found this before my death valley trip in a few weeks.

They replaced the battery, now I am rethinking the diode or anything that drives up the charge voltage, on a long drive I would like to turn off the 14.4v charge after 30 minutes and then just float it at the lower voltage. Given the heat and long duration with the battery monitor I see it go down to 14.1v but if I could go to 13.6 or 13.5 as the longer duration charge I think it would prolong the battery life

AGM batteries specifically need to be charged at a slightly higher voltage. This is a random article (from a battery manufacturer) that gives you a rough idea. I would be hesitant to believe that the boosted voltage caused issues for you.

But do they like to be charged at that higher voltage all the time?

All depends. Mine was pegged @ 14.8V but it was -30+ this morning . When it’s cold like that it takes a while before levelin’ off.

Yeah, the charging voltage should drop off as the truck warms up. The idea being when you first start the vehicle the voltage is a bit higher. Aka its in that 1st phase which tops off the battery after some of the charge was used to crank the engine over. As it warms up it drops into that lower voltage range more of a float mode

My thought was to switch to a float voltage after a specified amount of time, to not keep charging at 14+v

I guess I was looking at the fuse being much of the post are on regulating the charging voltage but yes good batteries, just had mine replaced, but it was probably my fault that it died, may have run it a little too low a few times.
