Yeah. Gotta find some ubolts, center pins, clips, wear pads, etc.

I'm stoked really; I didn't think I'd go full ham right away with the interior.

 

@JKO1998 what radio are you running again?

I'm considering parting with my CB radio, at least for the time being. I wish to mount an FRS radio in the rear of the center console.

 

Oh, so you're going to do it right.

I thought the center pins, clips, and possibly wear pads usually get re-used when building a bastard pack?

Of course some people would re-use the u-bolts too, but we know better than that.

I figure I'll assemble the pack and get it tested out with old parts, then take it all apart and reassemble with fresh stuff.

Gonna add some bumpstops too finally while I've got it apart

 

I use this thing to lift non-engines more than I’ve lifted engines with.

 

Might as well do the shock mount relocate too.

Hmm. I did do a ubolt flip last time around, and one of the mounts could stand to be tweaked a bit. Just have to figure out what i'd want to do I guess.

 

I've only used mine to lift the pieces of my concrete countertop (6-800lbs each)

I know, and a coworker of mine has even offered. I'll probably start smaller than shock mounts though

 

I'm also fighting the "You don't wheel. You don't need to relocate your shocks."

Learning to weld is one of the best skills i've picked up. i'm no pro, but i'm half decent with a mig and mild steel and that is very useful for this kind of stuff.

 

How'd you go about learning? Class? Friend? Craigslist welder, engage safety squints and send it?

 

Well, I did a little bit of stick welding in jr high 20 years prior. Can't decide if that helped, but it definitely put it in my head as something I enjoyed.

When I got my mig i got about 30 minutes instruction from my cousin, after that has been all self taught. And just making up projects for myself to practice with.
