And what benefits from the government might you be talking about? During hard times we picked up drink bottles on the side of the road for the deposit money to have enough money for food. My parents had to work hard for everything they got and so did I, starting at 15 1/2 working in a cotton mill and going to school. There are far more government benefits today than there ever were in the past.

I mean, I could write a literal dissertation on how the markets, inflation, and commodities pricing worked to benefit everybody born in the late 50s, but it's irrelevant. The people born in that time think people my age are ignorant lazy idiots, and the people my age think you all just made a system that benefited yourselves. Which you did. Because you're beholden to the same financial masters I am, but you were on the early side of it so it worked for you.
