Icy, slushy roads today in Boston. So slippery its tempting to use 4wd. Full time 4wd would be awesome today. Stay safe out there

I'm very happy I don't have to be out today, it sounds like it'll be a rough one for the drive home

My AWD Jeep was great in this kind of crap but for the 5-10 days a year it was "needed", it was brutal the other 350 days when it was irrelevant twaddle.

Went to work today, burned through a ton of on-site stuff I could this morning and then scooted around 10 and working from home the rest of the day. I'll get so much done now!

Almost had to go in for an hour or 2 for a quick service call I agreed to earlier in the week, didn't pan out and I'm thanking my lucky stars it didn't

I have today off as a normal Friday off, school was cancelled for the wife and I decided against sending the kids to daycare. With my personal history of walking on ice and my recent crash history, I don't need to tempt fate.

I went to go get the mail and the driveway was already very slippy.

Went in to Worcester then to Medford and home by lunch and went out for breakfast. Roads weren't bad but people suck extra in this weather.

Do those froth packs work well? I need to do some spray foam insulation on parts of basement to stop a draft coming in.

Yup ,I made sure to get Cupcake out to work before it started changing..and told her she needs to make sure I have the area shoveled and sanded before she gets back. A fall for her could be truly devastating.

Very well if you can get everything warm enough for the application and it's not too much. The frothpacks are only 200 board feet ( 1'x1'x1") and are like $400.
How much are you trying to do? Is any of it overhead? It can be a drippy stinky mess.

Technically all of it is over my head - but most of it should be a contained spray. I want to pull the roll-in insulation with the spray foam..I pulled a sheet out already and saw some dark spots which means moisture is collecting there. The froth pack insulation will hopefully remedy this issue....

It will remedy the issue and I'm sure I'll have about 1/2 this one left when I'm done. I just need to spray a skylight this week in Gardner then you can have the rest of this one if you want to mess with it. There is a shelf life to them also. You get about a month from the time you open them and they go to shit.

You live real close, if you want any help hit me up. I travel with full PPE to spray and breathing it up close or over spray in the eyes well ruin your day. It is very temp sensitive. Material must be at least 75 degrees and mask the area well. This crap can make a mess.

You need at least 2" of foam to make it a vapor barrier. Ideally you want to pull all the fiberglass out and foam a few inches to the exterior then replace the fiberglass on top or not at all. Throw away any fiberglass that got a little black.

Oof might be tough to get the temp right - it's currently 45 degrees in my basement haha.
Might be better off as a summer project for me, appreciate the offer though!

A space heater down there for a few hours would be fine also.

My wife found out about my new purchase. The last new Ludwig Bronze Phonic 14X6.5 snare drum in the country!

Just remember guys, it's easier to ask for forgiveness rather than for permission!
