Oddest thing.... I hated coffee until I retired. Just poured my 4th cup since sun up.

i was a weekend/camping only drinker for years. with COVID and working from home I started being a daily coffee drinker. When i was at the office i would drink two big mugs of tea every morning. i think i just didn't like the kind of coffee they made there. very picky about the beans i use.

Sandy usually makes the coffee. I've got this maple creamer . About a teaspoon is all.

Used to drink a lot of amoretto flavored coffee,,, for those times when coffee flavored amoretto was just not appropriate.

    closed for the winter.

feel for the firefighters today - its only 18* right now and they've been out there for hours working the fire. freezing temps and water obviousbly dont mix well. shitty day to be dealing with this.
waiting for the city/county to issue and air quality warning. with the cold temps we get a cold air inversion that basically traps all of the air pollution down low in the valley. just went out and checked on the fire and i can smell the smoke from my house. probably going to be smelly smoky for a week unless we get a strong wind storm come through and clean it out.

Now *that's* my kind of mug!! I always tell people "I want a coffee mug that I only have to fill once".......

I started drinking coffee during Army Basic Training. We were woken up at 0400 every morning, and were not allowed to go to bed until between 2100 - 2200 at night (9 - 10PM). So we got too little sleep, and many of us had a hell of a time staying awake at whatever instructional activities we were doing the next day. I would fall asleep at rifle ranges, in classrooms learning CPR/first aid, etc.. Drill Instructors love to make examples of trainees who fall asleep in "class" LOL, so I started drinking coffee.

Now Army mess hall coffee wasn't anything to write home about, but it did help. That was in 1985, and I've been a fairly consistent coffee drinker every day since. I only drink mine black, the way God intended, I can't handle any sort of sweetener in my coffee. Makes my eyes pucker. My wife likes a little coffee with her Coffee Mate creamer.

Same here very little sleep during basic training " Boot camp ", so I started drinking coffee to stay awake and alert . When I got out of Basic and from Armorer's school I went to my new Duty station MCAS El Toro . I became the Armorer for my squadron and had to open the Armory at 0300hrs for rifle range detail

I was living in an open squad bay for the first year at El Toro and trying to go to bed at 2030hrs was literally impossible . I bought a coffee maker at the PX and put it in my Armory and used the same mug as in the pic . I would drink 3 pots of coffee between 0300 until the next Armorer showed up at 0800hrs

That coffee mug has had many gallons of coffee in it over the 41 yrs I've had it !!

Did some calculations ... that coffee mug has held 1084.5 gallons of coffee in that 41 yr time period !!
