Man, I tell you, old folks and technology :frusty::frusty::frusty::frusty::frusty:

First, I have SHIT for patience with this stuff. I've had the truck for 2 years and have not tried this because I was so afraid of what I would fuck up or worse, it not working and me throwing my phone through the windshield!

Anyway, I went to the Menu screen on the truck, poked the "projection" button, then it changed to "android auto" and I poked it and then plugged the phone in. It connects but says I need to provide access in "notifications" in the phone. So, I go looking through my phone for any kind of notifications that are turned off and I can't find any. Apparently the app is already on the phone, it knows i'm connected to the truck but I can't get any further. :goingcrazy:

I want to run Avenza Maps on my phone and view it on the truck nav screen. Can I do this? If not, I don't need it. If you think I can... a little help please?

I know it's Friday...be gentle with me? :crapstorm:

I would delete the app and download it again, before you open the app connect it to the truck. It should walk you through the steps. Avenza maps does not run on Android Auto :(

    Oh look, another mod....

The trick is: To be smarter than the device you're trying to manage.

Sorry that you are having problems connecting your phone. I forget how I did mine but it was pretty easy. If I remember, I know I had to turn blue tooth on and my phone showed up on the screen and just pair and it was done that simple did not have to plug the phone. There are instruction on how to do it on utube or in your owners manual.Good luck.

Thank you. All I wanted to see the maps app on the nav screen while 4-wheeling. So, I've lost interest. The dealer told me it was an extension of the device that was plugged in and whatever it had on screen would show up on the nav screen. Lying piece of shit. Whatever it takes to get Grandpa to shut the fuck up?
