Any kind soul on here with a heated garage or shop willing to help a guy out with changing my lower control arms one of these days? Bonus points for having a welder. Willing to pay in beer and some cash if needed. I never got a chance to get to them before winter and now they are driving me mad with how bad they sound. I was quoted $625 by a shop I trust to do it but I'm cheap and I can do the work myself if I had a place to do it. (welder is for CMC and Marlin Crawler cam tab gussets but don't need do be done at that time)

So summer time cab chop event? We just assembly line it, 1 person jacks up truck, removes wheels and clears area. Next person cuts the cab mounts. Then someone welds on plates. Then someone cleans the welds and paints the areas. Last guy puts the wheels back on and lowers the truck off jack stands.

I was quoted $750 from Zeus and $450 from TGK at Ham Lake (the off-road shop).

So yeah, it's not cheap up here in Minny.

Nothing around here is cheap... have you looked into tree trimming? For the cost of 1 tree cut down here, my parents in FL can have the damn Amazon rainforest clear cut and still have money left over.

I know, I hate this state. If it wasn't for family I would have GTFO'd years ago. Stupid family and loving them and wanting to be near my nieces as they grow up.

    sign me up!

I’ve lived in PA, IL, TX and now MN. No place has everything but there are definitely worse places than here.

I agree. MN is actually pretty awesome compared to many states.

Yeah, PA. IL and TX are all worse. :D

I was looking at WY, MT, WA, CO or maybe even ID.

I've lived in UT, NV, AZ, CA and of course MN. Miss the mountains, hate the frigid cold, hate humid heat and not a fan of the state's taxes.

Anywho, if you guys do a group CMC event I'll bring some beer and hold tools. Had TGK do my CMC back in December and I don't know how to do much mechanically wise. But willing to help out however I can.

Ok, so we might need to figure out who can do what here for a CMC event...

I can weld (got certified back in 2003) I dont weld much so my welds are pretty ugly compared to a pro. I get fine penetration and everything, but they will be crooked and splattered all over. But with a little grinding and some paint they look great.

Otherwise I have air compressors, tools, big floor jacks, pretty much everything. I would say we could do it at my place since I live in a cul-de-sac with zero traffic (everyone is either retired or work from home), but my driveway is a 20 degree incline with no flat spots.

Anyone know of a good pick and pull spot in the Twin Cities? I’ve called around a couple auto recycling palaces looking for the bed storage cubby but most of the places I’ve called seem to not bother with that small of a part.

I’m trying to put the storage box on my 2020 where Toyota removed it and don’t want to spend $250 on it.

    I use this,
    https://www.car-part.com/
For the small items like the TRD cubby, I'd search for pickup truck box, when any finds come up, call the yards for your needs. you can sort by distance to your zip code or by part grade. Its a really nice search engine that yards use

You could try calling Derby 4x4 near St. Cloud. I'm not sure if they do it but I just had them do some frame caps for my Tacoma and it was reasonably priced
