I’m pretty disappointed in my Knipex Cobra’s. Will need to replace them sooner or later and really not sure if I’ll get them again. Probably will, because I’m not sure any other brand will be any better.

 

the Milwaukee branded ones SUCK, the angle and feel is all wrong, they don't grip well at all.

what's the issue with the Cobras ?

 

All my teeth are damaged and rolled over on both sets, pretty light use particularly my large pair. Knipex offered to replace the small pair under warranty but pretty disappointing, and I have to send them in for the warranty swap so I’d be without a pair for the entire duration. Makes no sense when I’d have to buy a pair to use in the meantime anyway.

the teeth aren't real hard, keeps them from chipping, but trying to grip hardened material will cause them to dull and roll. I've warrantied a few pairs, never an issue.

EDIT: I did have one issue, I pulled the rivet out of the side of one pair, those were not warrantied, considered "abuse"

the two Knipex tools I ordered off Amazon were clearly returns, stuffed in a poorly executed cellophane bag and sealed with a sticker printed (at home quality) with “BRAND NEW” on it.

I've got snap on 1/4 and 3/8 digital torque wrenches. I really like them since I can switch between ft/lb, in/lb, Newton meters, others. Also I can watch the display showing current torque as I am applying so if I am doing a multistage torque pattern I can just watch the display instead of stopping after each stage and setting it to the next torque. I do not like click style ones since most people don't know how to store them so if you have to borrow one or its a shop tool you are trusting that the previous persons stored it correctly and didn't leave it at the highest torque setting.

 

This thing was the best $300 I ever spent. I use it for all kinds of things. Amazon yukon bearing press took knock off.

 

I was welding the other morning at 3:30a and it was around 20° outside. Last year I finished insulating and hanging 1/2" plywood throughout my garage (minus the sheet rock wall in the house side) so it's definitely warmer in my garage but I didn't know the temp which started me down the Amazon hole for a garage thermometer. Ended up with this for $37 off the slightly-used-amazon-rack. As a bonus it matches my Bluetooth speaker screen.

 

Oh, ha. And this morning there was a 20° difference between outside and garage.
