2022 Tacoma Discussion (Canadian edition)

Hi folks, newbie here and I ordered a 2022 TRD OR premium in AG on December 8th. Still no details on production and was told the end of March. I traded in my 2020 Gladiator and my question is will they reassess my trade-in value again or is the deal and valuation final? Thx

 

Curious, what made you want to trade your Gladiator in?

 

where abouts did you order yours? I ordered and placed a deposit for the exact same truck on November 1st. I haven’t heard a thing from the dealership yet. I Was told 3-6 months

 

What did they write in the paperwork? I put my order in on Oct 25th and trade value was good for 6 months and under certain kms and similar condition. I know the similar condition is kind of open ended, but it would be hard to change it based on that unless we smash it up and damage it in the next few months.

 

My dealers sales manager wrote up a trade in value for my current Tacoma based on its current condition and mileage and said he will reassess its value when my new truck gets in. He did say he will try to tweak it more in my favour then whatever that means..

 

We like the Gladiator and really just took advantage of the current trade-in valuations. Tacoma has a better resale value as well and I’ve always liked the TRD OR models

 

I ordered in Cornwall Ontario and still waiting for confirmation of production. I was advised 3-4 months .

 

They told me the trade in value would hold but nothing is on the sales agreement either way. That said, the sales person is a personal acquaintance and I am hoping there are no issues. We only drive the Gladiator 500km per month.

 

Just made an offer on a DCSB 6MT. It’s at a smaller dealer in a small town. They have had it on the lot for a month. Salesman told me if it was an auto it would have been sold by now. He said even short box autos are a tough sell for them. Hoping for 1k below msrp and no dealer fees.

 

I see! I ordered in Milton. I’m hoping I hear something closer to the 4 month mark haha

 

3-4 months seems to be the trend on timing, i ordered in late Jan and was told the same thing. Because im impatient, i reached out the dealer/sales manager to ask on the status and they had nothing other than that the placed the order.

 

They should honor the trade, that's usually what dealers do. Not worth the hassle to not. As for timing, I'm seeing trucks start coming in roughly 2-4 months after they enter production. Once it enters transit it's 2-4 weeks out.

 

Another sales manager confirmed that Toyota allocates the PRO trucks to stores, if your dealer doesn't already have an allocation putting an order in won't make one happen.

Fortunately another gave me a tip and I've found my unicorn in Quebec, they shared the pipeline summary to confirm it is allocated and incoming.

A slight $500 premium over MSRP... but my search is over!

 

What colour/config did you end up getting?

 

I hope so! I just hit 3 months of waiting on the first so we’ll see. Haven’t been informed of any allocations yet‍♂️

I'm in Eastern Ontario. I placed my order for a 2022 TRD OR 6A DCSB in MGM on 17 Dec. My sales rep is telling me that they get Allocation details from Toyota on the 20th of every month as well. Obviously I didn't get oke in January so here's hoping for February 20th.

 

I put in an order for a OR Prem LR on dec 7,changed it to a Sport Prem LR a couple days before xmas...was talking to the sales guy a week or so ago,he said it will be here apr 25th.Got a call from the Finance Lady this morning telling me it will be here apr 20th.
