I used a add a circuit fuse and used it on the low beam fuse in the fuse box under the hood to trigger my relay. Whenever I go to bright it shuts off the fog lights.

Okay, I'm genuinely curious here. I did mention earlier that a light bar might be a better option, especially considering the cost of everything to make this work. So why not just add a light bar that comes on when your high beams are on? I did this, then I added ditch lights on a seperate circuit and if I need them I can turn them on for that extra visibility. The light bar provides a MASSIVE amount of light compared to both fogs and high beams.

Doing a separate wiring for fog beams will work, but now you have to toggle both your high beams and your fog lights when a vehicle is approaching. Just from my experience having used the ditch lights at the same time as everything else, unless you keep your hand over the switch there is going to be that delay that could potentially blind an oncoming driver. Just my two cents. But my ditch lights are on the left side panel same as posted above in #52, and if it's a blind turn it takes some effort to turn them off. Pair that with inclement weather and it's just not safe. Fog lights are for fog and such, and if you want visibility then add a lightbar to your high beams. You'd be much happier you did once you see the result.

I believe you can also add a relay so the lightbar does not come on unless the switch is flipped. This way if you are traveling down a road with a bunch of blind turns the oncoming traffic won't be hit as hard in that split second it takes you to turn off your brights. All I'm saying is this whole thread seems to be overthinking it and hoping to get better visibility with fogs and brights when in reality, if you look where the light goes when your brights are on it makes having fogs on kinda pointless.

Anyone willing to share pics of the beams would be pretty helpful. I have DD SS3 pro fogs and they definitely don't stretch a half mile down the road, lol. and definitely not a quarter mile to the sides. That seems like a serious exaggeration and poor aiming. It would also cause a lot of reflection back at you from signs, where as more light aimed down the road gives you better overall visibility and less reflection back at you (if the lightbar is aimed properly)

Yes. Please see my post above recommending the Bright Box wiring harness kit so you can have fogs on if you have your high beams on.
    -
You can always have your fog lights on with:
A.) Auto Mode (One click up/forward on your left turn signal)
B.) DRL Mode (Daytime Running Light Mode) (2 rotations up/forward on your left turn signal)
C.) Low Beams On (3 rotations up/forward on your left turn signal)

Just use one of those modes and turn on your fog lights.
Your fog lights will turn off automatically if you turn any of these modes to the off position (all the way down/toward you clockwise).

With Brightbox, you can have your fog lights on when yo flip the left turn signal stick forward to activate high beams.

Pretty stupid Toyota didn't just allow this to be a stock feature since all we have to do stock is press the fog light button to turn them on or off.
Oh well, at least a smart dude who invented Bright Box is making money.

    Damnit.
    You Don't Get It.

    EVERYTHING stays factory.

The Brightbox wiring harness that takes less than 10 minutes to install simply allows you to turn on your fog lights or turn off your fog lights with all of the factory OEM switches and everything without doing any wiring or cutting or splicing or adding fuses or lightbars and all the other crap on here that is a huge waste of time.

Even before I upgraded my factory fog lights with the Cali Raised Amber Fog Light Pod Kit that is plug and play and I could and still can run my fogs at Any Time, just like it is for all of us when we bought our trucks factory OEM. (as long as you are in either Auto Mode, DRL or Low Beam Mode you can turn on your fog lights with the switch by your cargo light switch by your left knee).. To think it is easier to order, cut, bolt and install a light bar and wiring harness and wire in a switch through the firewall and tidy up the wiring and everything to do the same function of turning off your OEM high beams is flat out idiotic.

----> ONCE YOU INSTALL THE SUPER EASY Brightbox wiring harness: Now you can switch on your High Beams (push the left turn signal stick forward) and then if you want to you can push the factory OEM button and turn on your fog lights also for awesome visibility...

THERE IS NO TOGGLING and no need for lightbars and relays and fuses and all this crap about delays and even more idiotic comments about being unsafe.
Most people know to turn off their high beams when there is oncoming traffic.

    Good Grief. :frusty:
