How are you guys utilizing car play with the new iPhone? Seeing that that input is a usb and not the new type c to lighting.

Use a normal USB to lighting cable?

Are you asking for a retrofit to use the cable that came with your iPhone? If that’s what you are looking to do, you’ll have to buy a USB-A to USB-C dongle.

Any lightning cable will work with your phone, so the easiest thing is to buy a cable with a standard USB-A plug to lightning, since the Tacoma CarPlay port is USB-A. I have a cord I just leave plugged in to my Tacoma CarPlay port at all times.

Yea I’m an idiot. Thought the phone side was different as well. I can just repurpose my old cords.

Yeah I wasn’t thinking… I could just use my old cords from my 10. For some reason I thought the “lightning” fitting was different as well. Thanks for the input.
