Installed RCI Engine and LCA skids. Too tired to do the transmission and transfer case today.

Bummer. My 2019 OR came with it and I found it by accident when I triple-locked the truck. An old habit from my 4Runner.

 

did my 1st non-dealer oil / filter change (13,700 miles /18 months) since they basically only rotated the tires for 4 hrs at the service appt last week. Finally got a chance to use my new Motivx filter wrench and added a clear tube to the OEM filter drain tool to avoid a mess. Went pretty smooth. Luckily no issues un-tightening the filter drain plug or cartridge housing.

Mine recently dropped a lot. I usually get 18-19mpg. When I filled up 2wks ago it dropped to 14mpg on 50 mile drive home. Hoping just some bad gas. Won't know for sure till I fill up again next week at another place.

 

Got the dash speakers in. Tight working space though…..

Had to use a trim removal tool to keep the harness connection from disappearing……

Huge difference; not just in sound……


Two bolts on the passenger side pillar that were tight as hell…..

There was also this to contend with; I think it’s the outside temperature gauge….feel free to enlighten me if I’m wrong.

Working on the dash speakers made me wish I had smaller hands. The door speakers were a breeze. I was honestly shocked by how light the 6x9’s were when I pulled the first one out…..factory…….

These sound so much better. Just the tweeters made a big improvement to the sound on their own. Just waiting for the rear door speakers now and I’ll be ordering an amp next……stay tuned!

 

Yeah don't let that fool ya. I just filled up yesterday. I've burned more gas the last 2 weeks letting truck warm up vs driving. It's about a 5 mile drive to work for 7 days out of 14 (gotta love rotating weekends).

It's a 2016 with a little over 57K with KDMAX Pro.

Treat 'er like a lady I guess.

I believe I've got those same door speakers. Did you have the Suburu tweeters in before or did you get another brand with these?

 

The dash speakers are also the CS series Kickers. They are a midrange/tweeter. I can actually tell there are speakers in the dash now.

 

So the included tweeter brackets fit perfect then? Not sure about the temperature sensor, but likely a good guess. I need to get going on this with my truck. Everything looks great and thanks for sharing. Keep us posted with the amp.

Are these different than the Subie tweeters? They definitely look different than mine, and if they're even nicer I'd just pick these up instead.
