Actually, I found out that the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania owns all of the remaining homes, so the former occupants are now little more than squatters and can't pay taxes!

In Frackville there's no underground coal mine fire, eminent domain hasn't been declared, and the people like whoever owns the red T-bird actually own their property!

I actually got stuck after stopping to take a picture of the Thunderbird, and roasted my right rear tire pretty good, before I was finally forced to back up and really gun it to get going again...

Same house again; I think this might actually be two attached houses, though I don't know if two different families are living in it. That pickup parked out front seems to be fairly new though!

 

On another note, that is actually a public street and not a really long driveway; I just didn't want to tempt fate by driving my 2WD Taco down it!

 

From what I've read, many people pass through Centralia without realizing it; You really have to look closely to see that there was once a fairly sizable community here just three decades ago!

Again, I have a 2WD Taco with a brake-actuated limited-slip rear diff that I lovingly refer to as a "fake posi"; It can get me out of some sticky (or snowy) situations, but I'm gonna wait until I drive up here in the spring to fully explore Centralia!

 

I'm not familiar with 2nd gens. Is it not possible to disable auto-LSD?

The rare time it snows here I always find a nice pristine parking lot and disable all that fuddy duddy safety crap to pull donuts until I'm dizzy.

 

What also confuses me is that there are a lot of fairly large trees around, considering that there were several buildings here well into the late 1990s and even into the early 21st century...

 

You have a TRD Sport? Your truck basically has the same thing; Only the TRD Off-Road and TRD PRO have a true locking rear diff. I am not 100% sure how the auto-LSD in my truck works, but in "normal" mode the traction control is engaged and it only sends power to the right rear wheel unless the left one loses traction. Pressing what I call the "positraction button" on the dash to the lower left of the steering column disables the traction control and emulates a locking rear differential, but this is only to be used on wet and/or snowy surfaces because using it on dry pavement can damage the differential.

 

This is where they have the abandoned stretch of road that became the "graffiti highway" blocked off; The graffiti highway has since been covered with dirt to keep people adding to it...
