I pulled up on the other side of the pump to an AG TRD OR outfitted for trails just to compliment his truck. He beat me to the compliments on my color. I'm made minimal mods - tonneau, upsized tires to 265/75/16, running boards. Stock suspension.

That looks like Voodoo Blue which is a great color too.
    This is BBP slightly dirty.

I get "nice truck" on a regular basis, and quite a few "thank you for your service", and occasionally "thanks for the ride" from a Marine due to my Navy license plates. Every now and again someone comments on my Ham call sign displayed on my back window along with my obvious Ham antenna. All a lot of fun.

I have always liked the wraps that have the white topo map contour lines on darker colors.

The other day I had a guy pull up closeish to my truck at a gas station and yell, "Nice wheels!" I said thanks and he moved on.

Stock '12 Baja Series with the faux beadlocks painted orange instead of the common graphite.

I would agree with this statement. The reality is I don't get compliments on a daily basis by any means. I just thought with 3rd gens being out for 6 years and being extremely common to see a handful of tacos in a 10 minute car ride, people would be immune to seeing it as a "nice truck". Maybe that's why I think its an awkward interaction. Again I'm just a wierd anti social guy.

All that said, from an unbiased opinion, the 3rd gens really are a very nice looking truck.

Modifications are bad and only bad people modify.
I don't know about getting cat called by girls at stop lights, but I noticed a lot do stare and/or smile passing by. I would like to think it's because of a pronounced jawline, broad shoulders, maybe some stubble, but nah it's just the truck.

I get compliments a lot, it’s usually about the color. I don’t think it’s weird, I just say thanks and go about my day with the firm conviction that I chose the best color ever to grace a taco!

I get compliments occasionally. I think mainly because most of the Tacomas around me are black, silver or white. I know only of one truck in the area that has the same color but nothing else in common. I've only seen one truck that was a literal exact copy but that was over a year ago. When people say something it's usually just about the color and nothing else.

Yeah I get the compliments all the time.

Then after I added aftermarket stuff to my truck... I parked next to friend's tacoma at the parking lot.. People come up and look at our trucks. They like mine better because of the aftermarket headlights and the racks... Friend's truck is stock. They said "Your truck is awesome!" Some said "Your truck is badass!" Friend is jealous because people gave me compliments.

I get "Where did you get the racks from?" all the time. Which is why they say "I like the racks that they look better than stock racks." I told them that I said "You can put anything you want up there such as kayaks, tent, storage boxes, etc." After that, they went like "Awesome!"

When I had my traction boards up there, they went like "What's that orange thing up there?" I told them "Traction boards in case you get stuck." They went like "Oh.. That's cool."

After I went off road, I haven't put the boards back up there, I will find the mounts for the side of the topper so I will put the boards on it instead of the top.

I have mods list in my thread.. and on my website which it's in the signature below. So you can see what I have on so far.

Can't wait to get my truck done with rest of mods that I plan to add to.

I've had my 2019 SR5 since new and have always got compliments. They mainly mention the color. I guess it stands out cause id be ordering at the counter and a random person would say "badass/nice truck"...so they sometimes spot it while I'm parking

I would consider it mainly stock. Just some wilpeaks, leveling kit, and camper shell. I unplugged my raptor light a couple years ago when I saw a Honda minivan with them.

Third gen Tacos are far too common in British Columbia to get comments from anyone.

However when I bought a new Dodge Cummins diesel in 1991 they were very rare. People wanted too look at and talk about that Cummins diesel in a pickup truck and quite often I'd cone out of a store or wherever and there would be someone stabding by my truck, wanting a look. I loved it. I still have the truck and it is slowly rusting away around that still highly desirable Cummins 12 valve engine.

In 2000 I bought a 1993 MR2 turbo (with 100k kms) that still regularly gets . This past summer at a stoplight a guy in the car beside me tells me that my MR2 will be worth $100k (CAD) in 10 years. Later I thought, I should have offered to sell it to him on the spot for $50k.:D Still, I could probably get today (with 220k kms) what I paid for the MR2 in 2000: $15,800CAD.

I like '85 MR2. Amazing car. I rode in one with my friend.. It handled very well in curved exit ramps.

    Yeah
Oh yeah. I had to buy an 12mm wide bright yellow gold wedding band so it’s super obvious to try and cut down on the number of females offering sexual favors everywhere I go. Was getting a bit out of hand after the lift and KM3’s.

About to order me a big back windshield sticker that reads
“Thank you ma’am but I’m married.”

    Oh look, another mod....

The same happens for me. 95% of the time, I get complimented on the color and how (to use their words) "It really pops!". I always get this compliment after I wash/wax it, then park it in the sun. They're right, it really does pop.

Most of the Taco's that I see are MGM, Red, Silver or White. I have only seen one other VooDoo blue TRDOR like mine. I didn't realize that I bought a kind of rare color.

A guy who lives across the street from me has a 3rd gen Taco that's white and he compliments me about once a week on the color.

I was in the drive thru at my local Chick-Fil-A a few weeks ago. It was so busy that they had kids standing in the drive through to take orders. The teenage boy who took my order looked up at my truck and started gushing "Your truck is beautiful man. I've always wanted a Tacoma in this color. It looks really great. I've seen you driving it around." The kid liked it so much he even offered me a free brownie.
