Seems within specs, just smash tailgate/cap harder

 

Looks to me like the cap isn't properly aligned with the bedside on the passenger side.

 

Or like my cap, the window is falling out of the top hinge. For me, the repair costs more than what I paid for the cap, so not worthwhile. Neither latch engages on the frame, but I didnt get keys for the locks, so why bother spin the latches...

 

The bed stiffeners you ordered should suck that back in pretty nicely. It's good you caught it early.
