Suggestions for the cage

so i am designing a cage for my truck this is what i got so far... tell me what you guys think... what should i ad or take away.

 

Why not do some research ...and look for some guys who've already put cages in their tacomas. They can tell you what works and what doesn't in terms of strength/rigidity.

Don't forget about mounting system for seats and 5-point harnasses.

 

yeah thanks for the help janster.... as soon as i posted this i designed how i would do the harnesses. i am going to post up another pict when im complete with the cage...

 

Thats a nice cage mjp, somewhat similar to my cage on my 00

 

I want to, but it has a supercharger in it now , o well 1400 here i come

 

) yea I finally got ahold of the first owner who had it built for the most part, and he let me in on how much just he spent =)) im a lucky son of a bitch lol



buttt to try not to heist this thread, Take your designs ideas to a fab/race shop have them give you pointers, I know it helps sometimes to have someone physically there showing you examples, look at past peoples cages

 

Yea, i actually just traded my 07 tacoma for it, so i really skipped alot, I am bummed about not being able to build it, but There is still alott of stuff I can do(beef up the lack of the engine cage, and add my personal electrical touch to things)


I dont personally know of any fab shops out in Arizona Kmrofka, but im sure theres got to be some good ones out there, if not, give Hnm, richer, etc.. a call and theyd be happy to help


check out race-dezert.com theres a shop section in there and they have amazing people there, not the mention fab shops owners and such
