Vibration yes. Did it solve it? No. So now I'm working down the list of possibilities of what it could be.

After my 3" lift I couldn't get the takeoff shudder to go away. hanger bearing drop and axle shims did nothing even though all the angles added up. I switched to a Tom Woods single piece driveshaft and it has been perfect. I think it's worth the price and available through Tacomabeast.Com or direct from Tom Woods.

RCI transmission skid did its job for a good amount of time but it was time to add some extra reinforcement to it. I hammered it flat and put on some angle. You can see the stock reinforcement was a little bent out of shape.

Passenger side of the harness is done. I just need to change the blower motor resistor wiring to the updated part and then start finishing the drivers side.

Wired in the resistor wiring because I don't want any burnt wires in the new harness.
Starting to finish the drivers side and I found an easier way to run the reverse signal (navigation), inverter, microphone and camera wiring.

The problem is that I'll need to buy some connectors from Toyota tomorrow.

I would like to think that if it were that then it would've happened 4 years ago when I did the leveling kit lol. I'm going to start at the front end (ball joints, wheel bearings etc) with all the small crap first then look at the bigger components. I'm fairly confident that its not the U joints when I had the driveshaft out there was no play so I'm focusing on the front end now.

Flushed my coolant. 2015 with 78k miles.

are out top radiator hoses supposed to be stiff? Mines isn’t and I can open the cap after driving somewhere. I put about 100 miles since and coolant is still full but I’m not getting pressure

(Truck only goes on the beach and the streets, so don’t hate ) I challenged myself to do a 2.5 inch spacer lift so I can get 265/70/17 all terrain tires without rubbing. I did the front yesterday, and didn’t need to do the diff drop because everyone is still aligned nicely. The cv joints look almost exactly the same. Haven’t done the rear yet, but I kind of like the stance right now, it’s pretty level and rides just the same with a little extra clearance up front.
So my question is do you think I could get away with putting on those tires without doing the 1.5 inch rear lift?.

Yes the tires will fit. Unless you have crazy low offset.
And dont bother with the diff drop. Doesn’t really do anything.

    truck looks great

my truck came with 265/70r17 A/T on it already from previous owner
with zero lift installed. It did not rub
that 31" tire size is barely bigger than stock

right now I'm at 2-2.5" with excess positive camber and worse ride quality. There is barely any downtravel. I would not do that.

I have had 265/70/17 on a few Tacos with no lift. I did put 5100's on my 3rd gen to level with KO2's but none rubbed stock on any 265/70/17. I used 4runner wheels on the last 3 so no offset issues.

Lots of bolt on chrome stuff
When I ran that size tire on stock suspension it only rubbed on the front mudflaps. No clearance issues in the rear.

Spacers aren't a great way to lift IFS. If your spacer is on top of the coilover you will be bottoming out the shock without hitting the bumpstop, which can bend or break the strut. You can also be pushing the control arms too far down when the shock extends all the way, beyond the limits of ball joints and CV's, which is hard on those parts. You'll have less total suspension travel available too - there's about 1" of extra droop available before things bind up so you'll get that, but you're losing on the top end. You should add limit straps to prevent the binding, and add bump stop spacers to avoid harshly bottoming the shock.

If your spacer is inside the coilover assembly it's increasing preload which is fine as long as the coil doesn't bind in compression. Limits of suspension travel will still be the same but your ride height won't allow for as much downtravel, probably noticable over potholes, but at least it wont break anything.

I know and have read many reviews from both sides. Since it’s only a small 2.5 inch it’s not really making a huge difference to me. The suspension still feels the same tbh. When I need new shocks I am going to buy a full 2.5 inch suspension lift. Just putting money aside for it for now because I want a good quality brand.

2.5” might be too much lift.
You could get Bilstein. 6112/5160 combo for a much better ride and some lift if you put Icon progressive AAL.
Problem is 6112 front seems to be on a long backorder.
I don’t know why every off-road company website says In Stock. When you call them to check they say they’re out.

I imagine this is the type of thing that will charge your card $700 immediately and then you won’t actually see anything for 6 months.
