What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I wired to the outlet available (one Of the two accessory outlets). Sliced into the red and grounded it.


I then routed the wires for the lights behind the seats, not under the dash. If you want more specifics I can take some more pics for ya

 

Haltech finial tune and dyno done yesterday.

A beautiful power graph curve too

We gained 62lbs torque and 35 hp of new power in the midrange area 2k-4.5k from the haltech compared to the stock ECU on methanol both with dyno results.
Rev limiter raised from 5100 to 5600 and hp is still going up.

Torque is almost at max at 3000rpms at 300lbs.

Finial numbers are 282hp and 305 torque at 6000 feet,

How much do you think stock could gain? And have you inquired about a fuel economy tune at all?

 

Fuel economy is the same, still around 20 mpg and I have about 5k plus miles on the haltech, I’m not looking for a economy tune,

how much what can be gained?

 

20mpg wow, I've always been around 14. How much HP do you think just a tune on stock could gain (for the non-FI guys)?

Still amazing how much more you can get out of a simple turbo setup though. And with this haltech option makes it even more viable.

Did you not keep the meth injection? I would for several reasons..

 

Added some fancy logic to my tail lights so I get all brakes unless I have a turn signal on.

Could the same thing be used for turn-signal-corner-lights?

I think a basic P-channel MOSFET and pull down resistor would have done that for you, for future reference. HIGH blinker input = OFF

 

Seats showed up today

 

Trucks been not starting or starting weak lately.
Not starting after long drives.
Just did a rebuild kit on the oem one and she's still being lame. Thinking a new starter might be in order since the battery is fine and all electrical is solid... or so it appears.

Any other ideas on a culprit? Turns over a bit (weakly) then starts. R150f 5vzfe

The reman is much larger also oddly.

 

Have you had your battery checked? Maybe it’s lost it’s cranking amps

 

It's been a good 12.2 12.4 volts
Can they loose CCA and retain a regular comsistant voltage?!

 

Weak start wouldn't warrant a starter rebuild.

That'd be if you got the 'single click' no start issue. Or if you had a starter that kept cranking after it fired up.

All your grounds good?

 

Yes, it happens. CCA decrease over time. I’d just go have it checked.

 

Get the battery load tested.
The larger starter is Cold Weather part.
