No I wouldn’t ask you questions about how to set up suspension when you add 6” spacers on top of your axle bump stops to limit uptravel. Not to mention a 23” pan hard. I don’t care what your excuse is of why you did it. It’s poor design on your end. Don’t come in here and hi jack a thread with your YouTube expert opinion. You got parts from a company to push product for them using your following while word vomiting terrible advise for suspension set up. Then as soon as anyone starts question what you are doing- you block them and remove comments. Critical feed back is a good thing and it’s okay to admit when your wrong. Don’t come in here and act like an expert.

@DirtlifestyleNate a measurement from your spring perch to the top of your timbren should be enough. Anyone spring over with timbrens could take a similar measurement. Probably the quickest way. That tube you have your timbrens mounted to looks much taller than a normal leaf pack and thus would allow for less bump than from factory.

Multiple was to address this question.
First, share the data you used to determine stock wheel travel. Then site your source for the data on my truck. Clearly I'm asking for a reason... you are guessing.
    Second.
If you have 38s with stock travel you still have a far superior truck. But that isn't the case here. This truck has tons of travel however I'm willing to meet anyone with a stock tacoma and hit the RTI ramp so email me if you want to proove me wrong.
    Third.
I was pretty bummed to see that I have been communicating with you in a genuine way on insta for you to try and accumulate ammo against me here. If you met me you wouldn't look at me like the enemy I promise. I'm just a regular guy building shit in his garage and sharing it with anyone that wants to watch.

I build stuff in my shop and share it with folks who want to watch. Concepts that I am firmilar with end up on the white board so I can answer questions in the best way I can. My channel is about creativity.
But every 4x4 builder knows that packaging dictates the end result. This pan hard is short because of packaging constraints. I understand the sacrifices I made as I built it. A longer bracket on the frame is not an option. These frame are to weak and the mount would drag into rocks. Longer that I already have on the axle side is bad news as well. I did what all chassis builders do and got things as close a possible knowing that this truck will still perform... And it does. This truck kick ass in the rocks, on the trails and even on the hwy.
Do you travel to any events? I'd be happy to shake your hand and show you the truck in person.

Yep I blocked you. I was being genuine and you were not. Once I saw your true character It seemed like the right call. But still, if you see me in Colorado come say high. I don’t hold grudges and It would be cool to put a face to the name one day. This is a small community, no need to make enemies.

I’m not a factory taco and I’m only on 37’s. Next time you’re in Flagstaff AZ come on by and we can compare trucks

Rti ramp doesn’t mean anything in my opinion. Building a truck to concur an rti ramp or max out the metal cloak trailer is totally different from a functioning trail rig. Years ago I put mine on the metal cloak trailer and scored pretty “poorly” per the metal cloak guy. A buddy we wheel with out his on and it did better but on the trail mines way more stable and capable.

Forces on the trail are different than what an rti ramp or the trailer or even you can replicate in the garage. Real world forces make things act differently.

I would rather see two trucks side by side in a lift or jackstands from the frame to compare specs at ride height bump and droop and then do a trail to see just how much “better” this is. Combination of crawling and go fast.

I know all about packaging restraints on chassis. It’s a pain. But there’s always a solution before hurting performance. Correct length pan hard bars are possible.

@DirtlifestyleNate What motivated you to go this route, versus a proven spring over or even a spring under setup?
As a simple shock relocation on spring over can net you 12" of travel. While spring under can get you to 14+" of travel. And does well in the rocks still.

When you don’t use bump stop extensions… this is what he is talking about… there is always room for more tire stuff.

Lol dudes! I'm trying to put out an olive branch here. The RTI suggestion was just to try and give you what you want!
Well at least we all can agree on something lol. I don't think the rti ramp directly correlates to trail performance either I was just trying to give you some metrics since there was so much talk about the lack of wheel travel.
    Here is the reality.
This truck is bad ass as a rock crawler so far. The limits and constraints I have put on this truck due to packaging aren't showing up in any measurable way. The truck has a ton of flex for such a small amount of work. It steers, drives and handles beautifully and it's not even done. The plan was use the suspension and reevaluate when I toss in the new rear axle in june. The pan hard bar might get longer, so might the links, but if you watch the channel you will see I experiment alot! I try and push boundaries and show my findings to whomever is watching.
Now, I have been gone for a week and I miss my kiddos. I bought them a couple rc crawlers so I'm going to excuse myself for the next few hours to crawl around the living room and get silly. Feel free to ask more questions
And when I come back I will address the leaf spring vs coilover debate from my perspective.
    Thanks gents

Sounds good. Family time is better than TW anyways.
And ya, some of waiting on updates on the trailer. Seemed like a cool project. Miss the Disco too. Lets get that that thing out to Pritchett Canyon. BTW, wanna crawl? Check out Best of the West, I think there is one planned for 2022 @WarFab Armor will have to answer that. Im still only 35s and not dual locked. Its still out of reach for me.
