Manual transmission models don't come with it. Crawl control is first gear in 4Lo. :)

In other words, if it sounds like it is falling apart, you can't drive a stick!

Fogs installed. Still need to check if beam alignment is good. Do all those plastic tabs break easily?

NoVA nerds, I'm going to pull the trigger on my next suspension this week. Right now it's looking like Fox 2.5 DSC front/rear from Accutune. Before I pull the trigger, is there any other vendor/shop that offers tuning that I should consider? I have full confidence in Accutune and they seem like a fantastic company, I just don't want to be missing something...buy once cry once this time around.

The Accutune article on Fox vs King mostly swayed my decision to go with Fox; better components and better corrosion resistance according to them. Plus, they are in stock at Accutune. If I was going at this solely based on visual preference, I would have already bought the Kings and waited/hoped they came in by summer. I also looked into ADS; they are even more expensive, not in stock anywhere, and a lot of what I read said they were King clones.

I've used it before just testing it out.... never used it offroad (not really hitting crazy obstacles too much)

yep, I didnt miss it when I had my 6MT..... I did miss the AT in traffic though :D

I am absolutely in love with my 6112/5160 combo.... kind of a different category from King/Fox.... but I've seen too many Fox shocks get leaky after 15-20k miles especially in this area where there is snow/salt on the road each winter

Figured I'd toss a shout out to all you fools in this thread (and others) for providing, amongst the shenanigans and BS, insight, tips and tricks on maintaining and inspecting different parts, systems, etc. related to our Tacos...it translates very well when assessing my 14yr old DD civic and the shaking, jarring steering issues and vibration/harmonics I started experiencing late last year...

The civic hybrid has 194,000+ mi.

    Replacing ORIGINAL:
    • Front Coils and Struts (R+L)
    • Front (lower) Control Arms (entire swapout w/bushings and ball joints) (R+L)
    • Rear Struts (R+L)
    • Tie Rod End (R)
    • Rotors
Also replacing already replaced and now worn out:
    • Tie Rod End (L)
    • Brake Pads (R+L)
Now hopefully it'll all arrive before the weekend, so I can knock it while it's all taken apart!

2.0" up front and 1.5" in the rear

    I need bigger tires....

Coincidentally my son and I on Saturday replaced the lower control arms on his 05 Acura TL. One of the bushings was completely torn. We would have replaced the ball joints too but you can't get them out with a standard ball joint press (WTF Honda/Acura?!), so we just left them in since they looked OK.

Also ended up doing an unplanned replacement of his driver side CV axle as the inner boot tore right off when we were monkeying around in there. I think it was already torn as there was a line of grease next to the boot that looked like it was getting flung out. Just need the car to last another year or until he gets himself a Tacoma, he's already started looking.

Dude, the whole control arm with ball joints and bushing was less than $45 per side, I think the bolt on outer ball joints run from 17-29 bucks as a standalone replacement...kind of a no brainer to just avoid pressing, even though my FiL has a press in the garage. Thankfully my CV boots were fine, I'll spray some RT22 on them and hope they last another few years!

We bought both control arms for $140 that had the bushings (3 per arm) already pressed in, but the ball joints were shipped loose since they are pressed into the hub where the spindle connects. The spindle makes it impossible to use a press. Hard to explain in words, but trust me, it ain't happening without a special tool that Honda sells but isn't available anymore.
