compass and temp display spontaneously went out -- anybody else have this happen? I tried smashing it several times with my fist, and this trick didn't fix it.

I picked up a cold weather additive for mine. I put it in on the way back from my trip. it was soooo cold on the way back that even in the engine compartment it was having trouble staying liquid. It was the Rain-X brand. worked really well.

Give me a PM and I'll explain it to you. Or next time your in ALB let me know. It only takes about 3 min to fix and is crazy easy to fix.
