All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!

I can certainly understand the frustration. I would think that talking to the shop manager and explaining this to him should get it resolved. At this point, we know 3 things. They are over the quote (both time and money), they fired the guy working on it, and stuff that was working before isn't working now. I haven't dealt with a shop in a long while and have no idea what, if any, legal recourse you might have. I would start by posting the name of the shop so that we all know to avoid them. I doubt they will look on a Tacoma forum to see that someone is talking about their poor service on a Corvette.

Hopefully someone on here will be able to provide more insight.

Does that mean the AAL stayed?

I went and looked at it. Was a sweet little rig. The cage is nice, motor was good to go. I am on the fence on spending 7500 on it at the moment. Just picked up that Yamaha Wolverine RMAX2 1000, and it wasn’t cheap. Other thing is I got no where to park it, so it would sit out in the weather.
May hold off and use those funds on a timber frame shop up here. But then again, when are you going to be able to find a turn key crawler this capable for that money on the SE. Never

The poor FJ40 sat for years in ATL, maybe I just need to kick that into action up here :)

Does anyone have a recommendation for a place that does clear bra/paint protection film?

I can't remember and can't find the add anymore but does that thing have dual cases? Longfield axle shafts and birfs?

My only gripe is that it has to go into N in order to shift cases. Due to it being an auto and the adapter he used, if it’s in drive then it will grind trying to shift in both cases.
Not a huge issue, as it could be just driven around the property and mtn I live on in 4hi

With the 4.10's it wouldn't be so bad in 4hi speed wise

My only real draw back is recently buying that SxS to put around here on. I doubt I will be taking a crawler to a dedicated park anytime soon. I gravitate to moving at a quicker pace… brapp

Then it sounds like you really just need to take the 7k and put it towards the sxs.
