Update on Bounties: If you have stocked up on Gunsmith bounties go ahead and turn those bounties in as it looks like most (if not all) of those bounties will not carry over when the new expansion hits due to the changes to the Gunsmith. Gambit is the same way (though I don't know anyone that actually plays Gambit). Don't hold onto those bounties. Everything else is fair game with the exception of Tangled Shore bounties since that is going into the DCV. Pick up every single Clan bounty you can and complete them. They give the most XP.

I finally got around to finishing up the Stasis Subclass on the Titan and it was painful. I had to run 2 Gambit matches and kill 50 with Stasis. Only took two rounds then I had to play the Nightfall with the same requirements. I HATE The Proving Grounds strike but got it finished also. There were plenty of steps that I had to finish up the Stasis Subclass on the Titan and I hate the Stasis Subclass on the Titan. But it's finished.

    Yeah.
Thanks for the tip. I finally re-started my Hunter to pad the bounty stash, and a bunch are Gunsmith. No worries, plenty of time to fill those in with XP++ bounties. Oh, and I found my Bad Juju, it was on my Hunter, lol.

Bad Juju is looking to be a good weapon next season due to the changes to Pulse Rifles. It can't really compete in this sandbox but next season? It has the potential of being good. It fires full auto and reloads after every kill. It's not great in PvP right now. But in PvE? It might just become a beast. Thing is... they are releasing 42 new weapons next season and with weapon crafting it will most likely make any god roll that you might have in your vault obsolete.

    Yeah.
Good thing I am not great at identifying a god roll weapon, lol. I doubt I'd be taking my Hunter into PvP anytime soon, although my Crimson was on her as well and I'd likely use that instead. I just have a soft spot for the Bad Juju since it was the first exotic I ever got in Destiny. I'm enjoying bouncing around in my StompEE5, though.

Hunters still pretty much rule Trials right now. That's evident from any Trials Report. Stompees are still the go to, to wear in Trials if you truly want to compete. I can easily go Flawless with my Hunter just due to the vertical ability of Stompees and the evasion that the Hunter inherently has. I just wanted something different so I've gone Flawless on the WL for the past three months.

Crimson is a top tier Hand Cannon (if you could even call it that). Bad Juju is meh at best. It has the possibility of becoming really good next season but right now? You will get outplayed every time with someone using a Messenger, BXR, or a few other Legendary Pulse Rifles. I haven't pulled out the Bad Juju in well over 2 years and that was just playing around with it right after I got it. Put it in the vault and that's where it's been since. There is no place for it "right now". That may change soon. But I've not once been killed by it in PvP because no one uses it. Outbreak Perfected or Vigilance Wing will out play it every time as far as Exotics go.

So I went on and played some Freelance and as usual... Had two games in a row where someone on my team left. So I said fuckit. Went to Bungie LFG and joined a group there.

    First match of the card

The entire card went this way until the 6th match and we matched up with a team with someone seemingly doing some sketchy shit. Looked up his stats and he was .8 last season and this season he's 2.8 in Trials alone. I'm sorry... no one jumps up in level that fast. Not sure what he was doing but he never missed a snipe. Anyway... this is probably the most stressful card that I've run. Not only did we match this team on the 6th round and they beat us and used our mercy. Then I'll be fucked if we didn't match them again right after. That should never ever happen but it did.

Here's how it played out lol...

*EDIT* This isn’t the entire card. Just the last three matches to put it in perspective.

Shit is about to change. If everything plays out like they show, then this should really be a good expansion. Destiny has always been a pseudo MMO which appeals to me since I come from a long line of MMO's. I've always called Destiny an MMO lite. Once Armor Crafting became a thing is when it really started to go in that direction. Now with Armor Crafting, Weapon Crafting, and the new subclass changes coming? It will feel more MMO like than ever.

They are bringing back a reprised raid sometime this year (my guess would be after all the subclasses are addressed). If I was going to bet, I would put my odds on it being a reprised version of The Taken King. That was probably my favorite raid in D1 even though I loved VoG. But The Taken King fits within the narrative of this coming year. I hope the fuck it's not Crota. Crota was one of the worst raids ever created. When I could solo it with little to no issue? It was a joke. With a full fireteam it became a 15 min strike. But The Taken King was an amazing raid. Now my grinding for materials will start in earnest.

I'll just drop this here in case you haven't seen it. Enjoy

I'm not a lore nerd when it comes to Destiny. I do know there is A LOT of lore in the game. Luckily we have people like Byf to deep dive into the lore and create amazing lore videos about why things are the way they are. If you haven't checked out his videos I highly recommend them. I've sat and watched his "Book of Sorrows" lore videos and they are interesting as fuck. I realize that most of us play the game just because we want to shoot shit in the face. I do to. But it's actually a really deep game if you dig deeper.

This is a really good video about where the weapons we use come from and why they do the things they do.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZB8Ho7MoLP8

Since I finally got the god rolled Uzume RR4 sniper I noticed something the other night while playing with it. Now it makes sense. Since it's an Omolon weapon and Omolon specialized in liquid ammo it now makes sense.

This is a screen shot from one of the private matches we ran the other night. Notice the liquid reservoir on the side is slightly less than half full? That's because I only have two rounds in the Sniper and it holds 5 when fully loaded. So as you use the weapon the liquid drains out of it until you pick up more ammo or reload it from reserves. Pretty cool attention to detail.

Thinking you're right on the Taken King raid, especially with the whole expansion being Taken themed.. plus Hive Guardians.. should be interesting. Crota stayed broke it seemed like.. there was always some kind of cheese for it.

I'm hoping the new subclasses are similar to how they were in D1 where they were customizable with selectable nodes.

    EDIT: just watched the ViDoc
Looks amazing.. subclass changes going to be similar to Stasis. I think I like it. Much more customizable that way. It's really gonna open up how you play the game. This feels like Destiny 2.5.

Crota never got completely patched. You could always cheese the bridge portion. I think we only did the bridge portion correctly one time just to see what the mechanics actually were supposed to be. Crota was a rushed raid to follow up on VoG to get people excited for a new raid. But it fell way short. I soloed the raid not long after it came out. It was basically a glorified strike.

As far as the subclass changes you mention. That sounds good in theory. The issue with the way the subclass structure was set up in D1 was, yes... you "could" choose any combination of perks you wanted. The problem was... there was actually only one set of perks per class that you "actually" used. The others never got used once you figured out what the best setup was. Think of it this way... Every Void subclass will now have access to suppression grenades. Suppression grenades shut down supers. What do you think most people will run in PvP when the update goes live? I know I'll be running them since it's an automatic super shutdown. In PvE? You can run something different.

This new system will act just like Stasis is set up now. It will allow you to change your Aspects and Fragments to suit your needs for a certain playstyle. So the old D1 system you had options. But most of those options were never used because there was a strict path that was better than any other path. So no one used them even though they were available. I find myself often changing Artifacts and Fragments when running Stasis on my Hunter because it "does" make a difference. We will "earn" Aspects and Fragments while playing through that subclass line just like we did when playing though the Stasis subclass line. Then you can mix and match whatever fits for whatever activity you are running. So it won't be like D1 with selectable nodes that no one used.

If it is The Taken King, I don't know anyone that wouldn't be excited about that.

Get excited. This is the reason I only play one game. It has the depth I'm looking for and I will create builds that suit my playstyle. That is a game within a game. That is why all my focus is on Destiny and no other game. I want to know every possible thing there is to know and to be able to create my own character that fits my playstyle and then take it into PvP and destroy. It will change next season but as it stands right now, I have my armor set up to where I can play PvP at an extremely high level and then just switch out a few mods and the class item and I can play the hardest PvE activities in the game. That takes a time investment. The game is more than just shooting shit in the face. I understand that there are casual players out there and there is nothing wrong with that as long as they enjoy it. But if you ever want to accomplish the hardest shit in the game then you are going to have to research and do some heavy build crafting to be able to complete those hard activities. If not? You'll just be running strikes and doing low level shit. Nothing about that appeals to me "personally". I build my characters to a spec that I want them to be at so I can complete the hardest shit in the game whether that is PvP, Trials, or end game content such as raids. The only content that I almost refuse to touch is GM NF's. Sure there is some skill involved but in reality GM NF's are more about survivability rather than just burning shit down. Nothing about a GM appeals to me and I'm not heartbroken that I only have a few Adept weapons out of running GM's.

One other thing about hoarding bounties: Do not hoard the bounties that you pick up from the Helm. They will not transfer to the new update. If you have some that you are hoarding go ahead and turn them in. You can hold 63 bounties in total and there are more than enough bounties to fill that up. Also, as I mentioned, do not hoard Gambit bounties (don't know anyone that actually plays Gambit but if you do... don't hoard them) since Gambit is getting reworked. Clan bounties will give you a shit ton of XP. So I highly recommend you pick those up. The thing with those bounties is you have to complete an activity with your clanmates to get them to advance.

Also... As you earn Strange Coins just by running activities, go to the Horse and buy the boxes with strange coins but do not open them until after the expansion drops. They will drop higher level armor (sometimes exotics) and weapons (along with keys to open the chest). The more boxes you have the better. You could very easily level up your character very fast just by doing that one thing. So stock up on those boxes you get from the horse but do not open them until after the expansion. Also... If you get a god rolled weapon or armor piece? Don't waste the material to level it up to 1330. You'll just be wasting it since it will auto level to 1350 as soon as the expansion drops.

    Yeah.
    OK.

Hoard bounties, especially Clan bounties. But not Gunsmith, Helm, Tangled Shore, or Dreaming City (they don't say they give you XP, let me know if this is incorrect). So Clan, Vanguard, Crucible, Earth, Moon, Nessus, Europa.

Buy Horse boxes but don't open them.

Don't waste materials. But spend your Tangled Shore materials if possible.

Completing Gunsmith bounties gives you Enhancement Cores, so I think I will continue doing those but not hoard them.

Use up all your weapon parts leveling up the Gunsmith.

    What did I miss?

Pretty much nailed it. Dreaming City bounties have always been bugged. The rest are just to fill out what the XP++ doesn't fill out. Tangled Shore materials will most likely be turned into a source of Glimmer much like the materials that came from Titan did when they put it into the DCV.

There is no harm in doing Gunsmith bounties for cores. There are just faster ways of getting cores like dismantling legendary items. But no harm in doing them along the way.

I was talking about that night we all played and I said I need to put on my stompee5's and you all laughed at me and said they are called Stompees. Lol

As far as being deeper, I gathered that reading all the posts in here. Yes, I still read them even though I havent been playing. Thats what drives me nuts on the game, there is so much to know, and I frankly cant remember names of weapons, what each one is good for and all that. THEN, add to your armor adjustments and what you should have for each specific thing (PvP, PvE, trials, match play, etc.
It's almost to much. I just want to go in and shoot some shit and laugh with my team like we used to. Almost have to have a PHd to be competitive.

True… to be competitive you have to build out your character to match whatever play style you are going for. I’ve gone Flawless with my Hunter around 60 times so I thought I’d try something different. Figured I’d make a build for the WL and ended up making a pretty frustrating build to play against (as evident from the hate mail I got from earlier). If someone knows how to play then they will know how to counter it. But it’s a frustrating build to play against. Each volley of Arc Souls do 44 dmg. That pretty much makes any weapon a two tap. Then you add in my Messenger with Desperado that will two tap without Arc Souls? Well… you can see how that would piss people off.

Stompees are the go to for trials and pretty much anything in PvP. I see some using Dragons Shadow, Bacrus, Gemini Jesters, etc… but it usually doesn’t turn out well for them. The trick with running Stompees is to run High Jump. It takes away your triple jump but it turns your jump into basically an aerial dodge.

Since you haven’t played since Stasis became a thing you’re way behind on how to build your character with the new subclass changes coming. A lot to take in. But that is why I only concentrate on this game and this game alone so I know everything about it.
