PHEVs are a perfectly good 'path forward' too, tbh.

Spotted two Rivian R1Ts in the wild in the past week. Tons of ground clearance, and they don't look awful from the side, but I really just don't like the way the face looks. The back end doesn't look terrible, but I still think the taillight arrangement is a bit odd back there, too. The tires certainly fill the wheel wells (and the wheel diameter is too small relative to the tires), and I'm left wondering what the suspension travel is like. It seems like there's not much room for things to go upwards.

They apparently do well offroad (tires and weight dependent) but really they're twice the price of comparable midsizes...

Full height on the air suspension makes a difference.

Has a 6" lift in off road mode. Puts portal axles to shame.

Got the opportunity to drive a Rivian last year and holy sh*t was it crazy. Speed came easy to that beast as with a lot of EVs. And with an elevated ride height and air suspension, you just feel like you're floating.

Lol he's afraid of some pinstriping and 'I don't think my tacoma can do this'.. Um.. sure it can.

I like EV mode though, don't get me wrong, and a PHEV Taco would be pretty great.

Also that spare wheel position sucks if you have anything in the bed at all. I like that plastic footer for the jack though.

Yeah they gotta make the move somehow... they have it a little easier than we do for a couple reasons:
    1. being a small country where people don't drive as far makes range concerns pretty minimal
      • if you do need to drive far, you take a train
    2. having most home outlets be 230 V makes it so you can plug your EV into a wall socket and charge much faster than the US
      • allows easy adoption of EVs by consumers

He should have had the Rivian followed by his Taco

I do think that a bone stock tacoma would have struggled up that, but probably still could have made it with the right driver. Maybe not that guy though...

Wait... why did he need to drill for his taco's RTT? I mean if you want an enhanced rack maybe but the Taco also has pre drilled holes for a roof rack...

Why not include PHEVs? Range doesn't matter when on a trip, you could just use the hollow black liquid charging cable. ;)

Talk to insideEVs. It’s their list not mine.
