It hit my daughter a week before Christmas, My wife being a nurse, stopped by to check on her every day. She masked and gloved up. Still, she's pretty certain she carried it home. Son's girlfriend tested positive on Monday, the 20th, he tested positive on the 21st. They were down for about a week, flu like symptons...nothing serious. My wife started feeling it on Christmas night and tested positve (dr office test) on the 27th. I tested postive on the 30th. The next several days, it was just a general malaise, brain fog and some aches. By Jan 5th, my O2 sats dropped to around 90. Went to ER, it was packed, about a 100 people with a 24-26hr wait for a ER room. No shit. My oldest, who is also an RN (actually BSN) had taken me in, cuz wife was still down. We ended up leaving. Ended up going back in on the 7th with O2 sats in the mid 80's. Got into the ER right away and into a room. Started on steroids, anti-viral and 6L of O2. Was discharged on the 14th after some serious side effects from the 'roids.

Came home on O2 as needed. Haven't used it for a week. O2 sats are 98-99 which is a helluva improvement. Still heart rate gets jacked if I do too much. Other than that, I'm ready to go back to work. Glad I was able to WFH since my discharge. Wife went back to work a week after I came home. She is stll suffering from some COVID related gastro issues. I should get the release from my doctor this week to go back to work.

I hope this doesn't violate the "thou shall not discuss COVID". I was in pretty good shape for being 60. Biked about 100 miles a week. Ran. Lifted. Kayaked. 2-3 mile training hikes with a 40-50lb pack. And it kicked my ass. Never felt so bad in my life. Just putting it out there.
