House-mates suck. First one I had ripped me off some computer stuff and silverware. Second one, I was sitting in the living room and started smelling something rude. First time I ever opened his door, there were plates of half eaten food all over the place. Stuff all over the walls, dirty work clothes all over. Grease spots on the carpet from motorcycle parts. Guess it even stunk him out, all 3 windows on his side of the house were wide open. Not too cool when I was splitting the air conditioning costs with him.

That's why even though I'm going broke in this house now I still don't have one.

    Removed front mud flaps.
Prior to the job I'm in now (5 years in May) I was laid off 4 times in 1.5 years. Not a happy place to be but sometimes it's time to move on and you needed that push to get out of your comfort zone.

Best of luck to everyone. My company laid off 6 of 17 employees last month, including my boss. I think I'm safe for now but this economy needs to hurry up and do its thing and get it over with.

wow, thats crazy. I live in a pretty nice town and priced it above what most "bums" could afford-800 which appears to be the going rate for a bedroom/bath. i wouldn't stand for someone that was that messy/disgusting. I don't really have anything to steal...well, except I guess my tools. Or my computer. or my home theater stuff. or one of my vehicles. other than that, i don't have much. I would actually prefer a female as they tend to be a bit cleaner. i will have to learn to be cleaner myself. I tend to leave dishes in the sink and clothes all over the place....but its my house, and im single so its ok ;)

wow, hopefully you make the cuts. you are right about the economy needing to come back. i think they are atleast 6 months away though.

My company announced 12,000 job cuts by end of year, in addition to the 4,600 they already planned on cutting by april 09, which amounts to 4% of the workforce (both management and non management positions).

    YES!!
I work in the IT department for a small travel agency. We let 3 agents go yesterday (12 total in the past month) and slashed the front desk clerk hours in half. My team is next and we are looking at months end before we get the boot.

America's problem is that we dont make anything anymore. Everything is made in mexico or japan. All the jobs are outsourced...We are paying other countries to make things for us to buy...

True. One of the reasons I'm out of a job is because customers don't want to spend 200 bucks repairing their 3 year old computer when they can get a new one made overseas for 400 bucks, with a warranty.
