Pisser. Roads weren't bad a couple of years ago. Did they get washed out?

This place isn't far, roads were all clear ,dusty, all the snow is gone for the most part. There's another section on the backside that is super cool too. Tons of quartz everywhere . Next time I go I'll bring a Geiger counter and see if anything is radioactive still

I'd put a vote in for The Steak House @ Western Village. More of a locals casino and away from downtown. But for the quality, value and service it's become my go to when I have visitors or someone is looking for a recommendation.

From what I understand they received a federal grant to upgrade the roads throughout the park/campsites. I didn't think they were that bad either when we were there a couple years back. It's definitely worth the trip when they open back up.

I went to Western Village Steakhouse in December for my wife’s birthday. It was excellent.

I've been to Wild River, but didn't go with steak. Actually, I think it was lunch and I sat on the patio... Steak can't be a lunch meal, then what would you do for dinner?! Haha.
There is some GOOD people watching over there by the courthouse though! I've heard Western Village is under the same ownership as Peppermill, thus the food is the same, just a little more secret!

You won't be disappointed. I've been there twice, the first time I got the large ribeye, 22oz it was awesome. The second time I tried their blackened prime rib. It was the best that I have ever had hands down. Make sure to make reservations as both times we had to book a table two weeks out.

Not quite a traditional steakhouse by definition, but that Brazilian steakhouse by where the lady’s of the night work is fantastic.

I only know of one place in N. Nevada that would be anthropogenically radioactive. Haven't been there in a few years, but at last check, still only 2 testicles.

Clearly teabagging the top of the borehole failed miserably.

Well, I guess the Prius-driving crowd was upset about all the dust and rock chips, then.

One of the docents said there was a place just outside the park where you could find fossils, but I had a cranky 3 y/o with me, and that wasn't happening.
