I guess I'm just trying to remember if we left my torque converter on the truck. I can't for the life of me remember a torque converter being on the bench at the transmission shop where the input shaft swap occurred.

The donor trans torque converter was still attached to the engine because we removed the engine/trans/tcase all at once. But assuming it's impossible to remove the transmission on the vehicle without unbolting the flex plate from the torque converter then I'm not sure where the torque converter went. I really don't remember filling a tc with fluid or installing one.

Yeah, its rough that first week home. Round the clock focusing on keeping the little one going. I remember my wife would literally pass out while nursing she was so tired. Oh and wait for that first streamer to hit ya in mid diaper change... lol. That's always fun.

EDIT: Handsome little dude. Congrats again.

you can technically remove the engine with the torque converter still attached if you slide it of the trans gingerly.. but never want to reinstall that way unless you want to break the trans pump

Didn't realize you brought it out as a complete unit. I only know what I picked up from Tim's vids, hence the reason for the q's. I could be wrong but you definitely do not mix torque converters. At least that is what I took away from some of Tyler's posts re: his TC experience.

Dang he came out with a full head of hair haha

We're 2 years in and only recently (like maybe two months ago) did she start sleeping all through the night most nights. But you get used to it...mostly

It's so amazing when you're actually able to sleep all night uninterrupted again though

Oh that's just the donor truck with a seized motor. I'm thinking we removed the trans off my 04 somehow without removing the TC at all. I could be wrong. Just can't remember filling up the torque converter or reinstalling it. I could ask my buddy that assisted but we aren't exactly on speaking terms anymore.
