Could the mounting clamp for the cap and the bed seen some movement?
Ratchet strap will be perfect till the stiffeners come in.

The more I think about your gapped rear end I feel like the stiffeners are more of a half solution with the weight and flexibility of the cap. The cap has quite a mechanical advantage as it squats and shimmys side to side that it itself needs some stiffness (the bed stiffeners are still only working with insufficient metal to attach to). internal brace like this comes to mind. Could even be done with some Al channel and pop rivets.

appreciate that and just let me say the rtt is on when I go wheeling and camping, though I only do dirt roads and no rocks or bumps or heavy wheeling... :) ok some light wheeling..... I kinda get it that most of that is my fault.

as I already have 4 holes drilled into the cap for the roof bars the bracing maybe a good Idea:thumbsup:

Means you can’t Duke ‘er either. Not without a good box spring on the RTT.

So called up an off-road shop in the GTA looking for a steel bumper for my 09 Double Cab Off Road. Talking to the sales guy, he says the ARB bumper would be too heavy for my truck.

First I hear of this. With that being said, last summer I put a 2 in OME lift on it with 886 at the front.

Am I whacked to think that an ARB would be just fine?

That 2 in. lift will become a 1.5 in. lift (if not lower) with the ARB bumper on. You'll feel the weight for sure, but it's par for the course with all the popular off-road/overlanding mods: winch, skid plates, sliders, onboard air, dual battery, fridge, roof top tent... Easy to go over GVWR before you even have any passenger or cargo.

If you ever smash into a big snow bank or a tree, you'll be thankful you have an ARB

Kk. Putting a deposit on a Warn semi hidden winch. I’ll just wait for that to come in.
