Yes and no. Lincoln MA does exist though in the game it's in a different county about 75 miles from the real place..

Yup though Amherst MA does exist.

 

Lincoln could literally be Anytown, USA; It could be New England, the Northeast, or the Midwest. I've lived in both California and Washington, and I don't think it really resembles any town in either of those states; There's a significant portion of storyline missing between Joel and Ellie leaving Pittsburgh, and when they arrive in Jackson, Wyoming. I think an excellent game could be made detailing how they got from Pennsylvania to Wyoming; I've actually done research, and there's no way they could have made it from Pennsylvania to Wyoming on foot! They would have had to requisition at least one vehicle, and unless they were driving something really fuel efficient or found gas, they likely got their hands on at least two vehicles! The most straightforward route from Pennsylvania to Wyoming would have had them going through the tiny sliver of West Virginia between Pennsylvania and Ohio, and then through Ohio and Indiana, which would have taken them through Columbus and Indianapolis in those respective states.

I actually wrote a fanfiction (not finished yet) which has Joel and Ellie stealing a fuel efficient car from a garage in suburban Pittbsurgh; It was originally a 2010 Subaru Outback that someone had gotten roadworthy after it sat for almost 20 years, only to be killed by the infected, and then after I met a guy at a car show with a 1988 Ford Festiva that looked like it was ready to go into battle against zombies, it became a Ford Festiva. A Ford Festiva can easily get over 40 MPG in highway driving, and there was obviously not going to be any stop-and-go traffic in a post-apocalyptic America, so with a full tank of gas I estimated that a Festiva with manual transmission could make it as far the Indianapolis suburbs from far Western Pennsylvania before running out of gas.

My story also has Joel and Ellie going out of their way to avoid Detroit and Chicago; Why? Even 9 years ago in 2013, when the outbreak, Chicago and Detroit were both crime ridden shitholes. The military would have been able to keep order for maybe a decade or 15 years after martial law was declared, but if Pittsburgh fell to a bunch of disgruntled survivors then I imagine Detroit and Chicago would have a lot earlier and easier! As such, my storyline has them entering Illinois well South of Chicago and going through the center of the state before entering Iowa around Davenport; They then cross Iowa and take a rest stop in Neola before heading across the state line into Nebraska. They are ambushed by some hostile Hunters and rescued by a group of benevolent survivors operating out of the Omaha, Nebraska suburbs. They trade some of the weapons they requisitioned for an ancient van (I believe I currently have it written as a roughly 1999-2002 Chevy Astro with AWD and aftermarket lift kit) and are able to make it all the way across Nebraska and across the Wyoming state line before the van suffers an inevitable mechanical failure; At that point, they walk the rest of the way to Jackson, arriving in early to mid-October (They left Boston sometime prior to September 21st of 2033, as it is still stated to be the summer at the start of the game)...

My friend let me take his 2015 CLS550 for a spin today; Over 108K miles on it, but it runs and drives great!

 

Looks like you had fun.

 

This thing hauls ass! My friend is selling it and I wanted to drive it before that happened...

 

My truck is finally clean! I initially took it through the drive-thru wash on 611, but that didn't do a good job on the frame, hence why I am at the do-it-yourself wash right now...

 

Also, I used my credit card to pay for the tokens, specifically $20 worth, but it only had three tokens left; According to my banking/credit card app, I still charged me for the twenty tokens...



Luckily, the owner left a number to call in case of such an issue, so I am meeting him at the car wash before work tomorrow to get the remaining 17 tokens I am owed!

 

I've seen an apparatus that you can wheel under the truck similar to a creeper, but it hooks up to the garden hose for keeping the underneath clean.

I didn’t know what a CLS550 was?
I suspected it was a Mercedes based on the letters/numbers.

 

So, apparently I bought this same book a few years ago (likely at the Barnes & Noble in Center Valley), and don't remember it...

 

You might donate the duplicate to a local library for their book sale. Just check the copyright date to see if one is newer & if so keep that one.
