Powered grease gun? Oh so you're the guy that keeps pumping half a tube of grease in a bearing blowing out all the seals! Oh, wait, forgot we weren't at my place of employment

I keep writing in my comments on our visual PM's that the seals are blown. Nobody seems to have taken notice... :annoyed::frusty:

They noticed, they just didn't do anything about it. And gee, visual pm's? You mean when you actively watch the bearing start smoking before catching fire?

Yea for us on 2nd shift only have time to visually check over a conveyor to see any issues arising. If something looks off we write it in our comments on our work order. Many of times I've written down a bearing going bad to just be told watch it... :annoyed: We have little downtime in between our sorts; I've changed drive belts (nice Gates Poly Chain GT belts, no actual chain on drives) and the such in that time, but anything major has to be scheduled. Or it just fails completely and we do a downtime report...

Oooh so official and fancy with all these reports and schedules. For me it really is more like "here's the mill, that's the machinery running, when it stops, go fix it."

    Sorry to digress...

Are these powered grease guns worth the coin they cost?

Absolutely. Especially if you're greasing the same thing every day at 32 zerks.
