Hey everyone! As you're starting to get your kits rolling through I just want to re-iterate some of the instructions so we can help your install go smoothly. Steps 7 and 8 of the instructions tell you to disconnect the factory harness from the little clip retainer:
    Screen Shot 2022-02-08 at 12.26.15 PM.jpg

This is so that, when everything is installed, the new harness is in a nice straight line. You can tuck the slacked harness into the a-pillar gap:
    Screen Shot 2022-02-08 at 12.26.24 PM.jpg

As best we can, we want to prevent people from bending the harness to fit it into the a-pillar. This might require you to spend a little bit of time with those clips. Harnesses aren't meant for severe bends (typically), so just be mindful :) If you have any issues at all with the install feel free to reach out to me or VLEDS; we can get you squared away pretty quickly with any troubleshooting, etc.

    Onto some other stuff:
I talked to VLEDS (they have a double cab in their shop), and they say to mount the lights to the back of the front seat instead of the lip of your rear seat (unless you want to be adventurous -- power to you!). You can follow the rear Tundra install instructions pretty closely and get a more satisfactory install. You can mount the light bars using the velcro strips -- they adhere super well to just about anything. You can orient them just high enough that you'll get some solid output and the bars won't be visible from any conventional angle. Detailed instructions for the rear will come later this week or early next.

Are the connectors for the low and high settings identical? If yes, is it possible to order a different color led so I can run dual colors? I’d like the high to be white and the low aqua. If this is an option, I’d be on board to order a separate pair of light strips. I received my aqua kit from vleds today.

Those are inputs — not outputs. There is only one output. So it’s not as straightforward as plugging in two sets of lights. You could only hook up the low on the PWM and attach it to your ambient set of lights. Then use an extension and attach it to the high input coming off of the main harness so you bypass the PWM. This would run to your high lights. This will mostly work, but you will have both colors on at the same time if you open the door (trigger high) and your headlights are on (trigger low). We’re working on dual color stuff later in the year along with switch control.

ok, I over simplified I guess. I’m going to install the aqua and go from there. In hand, looks like a nice kit.

I have it installed like that in my 15 wrx. Velcroed the strips to the rear of the front seats. Ran the wires from the kickpanel and under the door sill panel until I got to the middle and had the wire come out from there.

Got my set from VLED and installed this afternoon. Front foot-wells was pretty quick and easy about 30min. Color is a match with the cubby LED.
    IMG_8269.jpg

Back seat add on I didn't like the location with the rear of the Tacoma front seats basically on the floor and wish there was a 8ft section or wire as I routed mine under and mounted to the front side of the rear seat but only just had enough wire. This install took over an hour.
    IMG_8267.jpg IMG_8268.jpg

Night time brightness is perfectly dim to match my cluster being dimmed all the way as well.
    IMG_8287.jpg

All in all a great kit. Each light can support another - so question is how many can be daisy chained? Could add a few more add-on sets and route to door cubbies.

    I wouldn't recommend it.
For that it be best a separate/different approach, like adding a relay activated by PANEL circuit.
    upload_2022-2-8_22-26-37.jpg
Green is PANEL circuit, activates Blue relay.
Violet on Red relay cuts power to Blue relay when door(s) are opened.

Looks great! I think this is the first public front/rear kit installed (meaning outside of the little pre-release testing ring). We really appreciate the feedback. If you ever change the location of the rears, there are a bunch of extensions on VLEDS website to make it more suitable to your needs.
