Got the 6th & final interior door hung today. The thing clears the floor by a certain type of hair ;) 4 of 6 of the frame screws are stripped. Neither toothpicks nor chopsticks would get the 3" screws to bite. I angled the screws to get some fresh wood but then the heads didn't sit flush on the hinges. So I picked up a 1/4" dowel & will get some plugs glued in tomorrow.

Also had to return a door handle to Homie Depot. It's not sold in stores so they call it a special order, which means a refund is store credit. The kicker? The store credit can't be used online to order the replacement handle :angrygirl:

Next up is removing them 1 at a time to prime the newly exposed edges I had to cut and then prep/paint.

Question for y'all: I'm going to be helping my brother finish a bathroom/laundry room. It has a roughed in shower drain set in the concrete floor. He doesn't want to put in a shower. What would be a good way to make it disappear?

I've considered that, but all of my windows were replaced about 10 years ago with low e types and don't have insets for screens, which means drilling into the stucco. I just patched and repainted my entire house myself last spring, so I'm not wanting to drill a bunch of holes. I do have Coolaroo roll down shades on the patio, but I think tint will look better and should last another 10 years.

Typically the attachment points are just tapped into the window's metal frame. You don't have that?

On the lower portions of the windows yes, but not on the top. The top part of the windows are flush with the exterior walls, so no way to attach. Previous owners doing not mine.

Cut it off flush with the floor and cover it with whatever flooring you put in there
If it makes u feel better you could plug it with something first. Just make sure whatever you plug it with doesn’t get downstream of the opening lol

Bought a display case for $100 for my nerd shit. Prepped, paint, new handle, came out great and happy with it. Need to add more things but glad i finally got one that worked with my taller figures.

This is what I would do: Chip the concrete around the pipe enough so that a permanent cap can be put on at or just below the floor level. What ever you do make sure to cap that pipe. Over time the water in the P trap will evaporate and you'll have sewer gas coming up into the remodeled space.

Got a couple more quotes for window tint on the house today. Well, I'm still waiting on one guy to email his estimate, but I think I know what I'm choosing and who I'm going with.

I found a local guy that focuses on residential tint and has several solid reviews. Going to do True Vue Solar Guard tint. 15% on the west and south portions of the house (high sun exposure) and 30% everywhere else. $1700 for the entire house.

Funny enough this is the same film that the first estimator quoted me $3100. The other company was planning on using 3m nightvision 15 and night vision 25, but I didn't like it as well and haven't received his emailed quote yet.

Here's some pictures of the specs...

Any painters in here? I need to cover a pretty dark grey/blue color and Id like to do one coat coverage but not break the bank. The most helpful paint store carried Benjamin Moore so Ill be going with them. Just curious as to what level of paint I should go with. I think its gonna be between the Ben paint ($$) and the Regal Select ($$$).

Killz is a primer, but Im hoping to only use that or an equivalent on the new drywall.
