Fished the inlet on Christmas day, conditions were good but got skunked.

 

Back at work this week...was on PTO last week.

Got some nice presents for my Taco:

I'm thinking a simple OEM Lift for my Midnight Black Sport and 270/65R17s tires...maybe TRD Rims...but that's a couple years down the road.

Congrats on your assignment to Dover. I was assigned here in 2006 and planted our roots here with our home purchase. After retiring in 2011, I went through a series of jobs (I'm on my 8th one). Current position is the longest tenured in the Material Management world--I am an LG/LRS guy my whole 25 year career.

I spent some time in JAX working for Boeing at Cecil Field before my current job. Anyhow, congrats and looking forward to welcoming you to Delaware!

Right on, I'm originally from Hawaii and enlisted in 2015. Been stationed at MacDill AFB in Tampa FL for the past 7 years. I work in aircraft mx

I was stationed at Hickam from 2003-06...my kids loved it! My red-headed Scottish wife, not so much! lol

My final duty station was Aviano AB, Italy working for the Triple Nickel/555th MX as NCOIC of Material Control and then rotated back to Base Supply LRS for my retirement.

Returned to Dover AFB in 2011 and like I said, have had several jobs. Scary & Exciting times after retirement from the military. But it worked out well for my family and me.

So, you're coming here for C5/C17/C130s? Look forward to your assignment and if you need my feedback on places to visit here in Delaware, lemme know!

Really is a small world. Yeah ill be coming for C5's or C17's, not sure which one yet. You have any reccomendations or areas I should look into or avoid as far as renting or buying a home/apartment?

When we were house hunting in 2006 for a family of 4, Our realtor had told us to buy in the best school district: "CR" that's Caesar Rodney (the guy who rode to Philly to sign the Declaration of Independence that made Delaware the 1st state). This worked out great as both our daughters graduated from CRHS. (2008 & 2012)

There are plenty of posh developments other than Camden-Wyoming areas for a single-unit home. It's a combination of rural and urban areas where you'll see these developments and some are quite expensive.

As for apartments...there is one off highway 13 getting built now within walking distance of Wawa, Grotto's Pizza, McDonald's, & Chipotle. It's obviously high traffic area but a good distance from the highway.

Other apartment complexes we've seen are really not that great but we weren't looking for an apartment.

The areas to avoid are on the outskirts of Dover proper, where all the State Buildings are located. You'll get a vibe driving on Loockerman St (pronounced "Lockerman"). I've gone to the EZPass office on that street a couple of times and had to be in LA mode (I'm from SoCal barrio).

I can try and answer more questions via PM if you like. To give you a heads up, our daughters are both married so it's just my wife and I at home. Our daughters visit with their husbands and spend weekends with us so our home is very welcoming to our adult children.

Howdy fellow Delaware Taco's! Bought this '18 Sport back last September and loved it ever since! Lived in Kent County my whole life but recently moved up to Middletown. I see a lot more tacos up this way. Makes since since you're closer to actual off-roading destinations. Anyways hope to stay active in the forum(s) and keep you posted on my build and journeys!
