Changed all drain plugs to Dimple Magnetic plugs UNI filter on air pump
The strange thing happened yesterday I had some free me time so I went out and rebuilt the carburetor on my generator turns out I had a clogged jet or two and the generators really needed it.
Its for my wife she's depending on power for her oxygen machine runs perfect now took about 25 minutes total so if your engine is surging on your small Power Equipment in this case of generator probably clogged jet just like mine was.

If needed I can run the whole house from this generator it's a Honda 5000 watt works perfectly other than the clogged carburetor jet

I think I maintain my generator and my snowblower better than I do my vehicles. When those two need to run, I need them NOW. I can always borrow a lawnmower, but those guys...they gotta start.

I enjoyed an excellent 7.5 mile hike today in the Lyme Corner Trails preserve today. Almost all of the snow from the end of January blizzard is gone, but the ground is still mostly frozen so minimal mud on the trails. Temperatures were high 30's when I started my walk and low 40's when I finished. I had the whole place to myself.

Sick of hearing myself whine but a little more to the tale.

All the lights came back on today. So they didn't fix it.
Stopped in late & asked if they could just quickly pull the codes. "Yes, absolutely" Soon became apparent I'd be there at least an hour, so I took the car back. I had to clear the codes so I can drive it out of limp mode. Wanted them to just read them & record the codes. Bring it back at some point.

Oh well cleared the codes. The lights will be back at some point.

Going to look at my sisters abandoned 2005 Legacy wagon on Saturday.
At 200k needs head gasket & exhaust, timing belt, etc. probably cost me $3-4k rebuilt out the door. Then i'll have a done car anyone can work on.
Maybe my regular mechanic will take the Prius as payment for rebuilding the legacy. Of course used car prices are so out of whack....

Just so sad that dealer service is no better than some 1/2 arsed local garage. At 5x the price. :-(

Head gasket and timing belt for sure, but those older subarus are workhorses. Worth the investment imo, as long as your sis didn't beat it like a teenager :anonymous:

At something like 196k miles she's still on the original clutch. She drives like granny, but without hopping curbs & the whole driving brail granny did.

I got her '91 Legacy when she was done with it at 210k on the clock & that one was also on the original clutch.

My first car was an 02 impreza; drove that for years and 100k miles, head gasket killed it eventually but man that thing was a trooper

Big sticker guy Lots of wasted money

Just picked up an 05 legacy sedan for the kids and had an 07 leggy save my life a few years ago, great cars! And yeah they pretty much all need head gaskets t belt and water pump and a wheel bearing, but after that they're bullet proof again for another 120k
