Footwell Lights That Don’t Suck

Welcome to Pennsyltuckyvania!! I'll actually be surprised if they get here on Saturday - our service has been horrendous for the past year.

 

Received my kit from VLED earlier today, will install in the morning. I must say the packaging oozes quality!

 

Me getting jealous of all you that are getting your kits while I sit here waiting till I can order mine

 

Tell the wife you bought it half a year ago, and it just came back in stock. 50/50 chance of survival though.

 

I’ll admit I did think about this. Though I just bought other parts plus a floor jack and stands…
Soon though, very soon!

One of the best things my wife and I did, was to open joint accounts for family savings and expenses (mortgages, food, insurance), but we also kept separate checking accounts.
She has never begrudged me any of my purchases (gun or car related, she usually tells me not to sell any of my guns, because I will regret doing it), and I let her buy what she wants with her money.

Thanks for the suggestion! Though, usually, it’s not an issue and we both get what we want. I can’t tell you how many times she’s not said anything about me buying things. We do have a system in place that works pretty well for us. It’s just I’ve gotten too much recently and it’s her turn lol. I’ve we had joint accounts I’d have 0 and she would lend me some for truck stuff she is a great wife like that.
**I should also say, she knows I’ve been eyeing roof racks, since I’ll “need” one for an awning when we visibly the beach again in the summer.

That’s awesome! However, with her putting it on her channel I’m just gonna have to order them before they sell out everywhere.

 

Can you give a little more detail into how you routed the wire for the rear lights?

 

Mine just arrived from VLED. Packaging is quite sexy! I'll do the install this weekend when the weather is warmer outside.

 

Are these the blue or aqua?

 

Ordered. I went with Aqua.

 

I took off the right side kickpanel, front passenger kick plate, B pillar cover, right rear passenger kick plate. Pulled out the rear underseat cubby and routed the wire under the carpet from about the B pillar to the front of the cubby.

It pops out right at the rear seat hinge:


The connectors fit perfectly in the gap between the carpet and hinge. I don't have to mess with them when opening and closing the seats.



If the wire was a bit longer from the front to the back I could have had the light fully on the rear seat instead of overhanging a tad but I didn't want the wire to be taught at all as I flip my seats often.
