oh, I'm very confident I can get a much better rate. I'm just not going to press the issue until I can get confirmation there's no extra line items on my build sheet further down the line.

    • December 14, 2021: Locate 2022 Tacoma TRD Sport 6MT in Army Green, tech package on local toyota dealership website. Called dealership and spoke with sales rep. Build code 01.
    • December 15, 2021: Received purchase proposal for Green TRD Sport showing it priced as $38,677.00, no mark ups, and $41,988.96 out the door with taxes, title, and fees.
    • December 16, 2021: Place $500 deposit (nonrefundable, Barf)
    • December 28, 2021: Request update, asked if I can bring my own financing, no reply.
    • January 5, 2022: Request update, no reply
    • January 10, 2022: Temp vin no longer works.
    • January 11, 2022: Request Update: Sales rep confirmed estimated delivery date of Feb 22-28, 2022.
    • January 18, 2022: Request update: Sales rep updated delivery date to Feb 9-14, 2022
    • Feb 1, 2022: Obtain financing through my credit union.
    • Feb 2, 2022: Request update: Sales rep updated delivery date from Feb 7-9, 2022
    • Feb 3, 2022: Informed Sales rep that I am bringing a down payment and remaining balance is my own financing. Sales rep states that "our policy is no outside financing bc (our dealership makes money off financing kickbacks.)" They never informed me that they force buyers to use their financing. I drove to dealership, they continued to refuse to allow me to use my credit union funds, which all other dealerships take, and tell me that they can sell the truck to someone else if need be. Having no other choice, I got approved for their financing, and I got a better rate. Out the door price $42,040.00
    • Feb 7, 2022: Request update, no reply
    • Feb 8, 2022: Sales rep reached out in the AM to inform that truck has been delivered, I can come get anytime. Rep later requests that I come Feb 9 due to their financing department being slammed.
    • Today: Picking up truck at 6:30pm.

TRD Sport 4x4 DCSB in Army Green! Originally wanted the Trail Edition, but my salesman told me he had this coming in a month ago, because he has no AG Trail coming in the foreseeable future. So I'll just lift the Sport and throw on some bronze wheels myself, plus the scoop looks awesome imo. Still no TEs coming near me that arent market up a ridiculous amount.

I'll get some pics when I pick up the truck!

Just got told my 22 TRD Off-Road (Celestial Silver) was put on quality hold and it will be another 2-4 weeks till its here :(

Put a deposit on an allocated 22 TRD OR on 01/27 with an estimated delivery date of 2/12.
When I went in last night to obtain some paperwork for my credit union, my dealership informed me my truck was put on Quality Hold as of yesterday, and it will be another 2-4 weeks delay.

Anyone else experiencing the same on 22 TRD ORs? Or anyone went through that recently?

I'm in Oklahoma, if it matters.

I put a $1000 in July 21 on a 6MT, was just told last week truck is in transit and should be here by the end of Feb 22. I guess I'm just not as lucky as some of you that already got their 22, but no rush should be here soon. Hopefully anyway.

Pretty sure the loan has to stick for a certain number of months before they get their kickback. I'd be refinancing after month 1 with your credit union. There's no payoff penalty I can find in the fine print for using Toyota Financial.

You are a genius. Credit union gave me enough to buy a TRD pro and I bought a sport. I could easily refinance.

I said look guys, I dont want to buy your financing. But I am willing to be a long term customer if you just abide by the deal you made. Sell me some add-ons, some accessories, sell me an extended warranty. I am already paying full price so youre making money on invoice=>MSRP. I will take this truck here for all service as well, I live down the street. I said "youre saying I need to use your financing 'to support this dealership' well, aren't I offering to do just that?"

Answer: No, you must use our financing.

There's another dealership down the street anyway. Guess thats where I'll be going soon as I drive off the lot.

1880 ain't bad brother. Pay it and get your dream truck before your too old to enjoy it.... at this pace, I need to put a deposit down on a 2025 EV tacoma.. and I probably still won't get one...

I plan on paying cash for my PRO... My dealer doesn't know (she never asked) , I'm super nervous what their reaction is going to be when I whip out a casheiers check for 50,964.00

And I'm keeping my 07 sport, so they aren't even getting it as a trade in.

I would be worried as well. They should take it, since its truly cash, but get ahead of it so there are no surprises.

My dealer also said they aren't taking outside financing at this time, which kind of stinks as my credit union offers 1.95% on new cars My salesman told me he can get me an aggressive rate though. I guess I'll see what rate they get me, and I can always refinance if I need to.

Could I just buy the financing they offer and pay it off the following month? Anyone have any experience with this?
