If an EMP hit what parts would we need on hand to get up and running?

Big ol' titties.....say a minimum of 38 DDD. That should fix any EMP strike.

    It’s not 1970’s carbureted.

ECU would not fare well with an EMP hit

A good chunk of the younger population will have serious smartphone withdrawals if there was a large enough EMP strike. Imagine trying to learn humor again without it coming to you in a tailored feed from reddit or tiktok.

All these tech workers who claim to be introverts with crippling anxiety and depression will have to socialize with real people for once and to build humanly ties. Oh the humanity!

A large six-sided faraday cage.... you park the Taco in it, and seal it up as soon as you hear the sirens... assumed that CD stuff still works.

I'd be at my farmhouse enjoying cold but modern plumbing, as my water supply is gravity fed from a spring.. Water is key. I'd worry about food after I figured out what happened on the other side of the hill(s).

My battalion had these back in the late '80s in West Germany. Nothing like stepping out into the mud to manually lock the hubs on the front wheels for the 4wd to get going... I'd pick up one of those Blazers in a heartbeat for a beater if I could find one that works.

Wall street and crypto will become worthless. Hey maybe an EMP strike wouldn't be such a bad thing for our sanity?

I'll be driving some old iron around.
Siphon fuel from all the dead cars .

Think I still have the original points distributor around if the MSD doesn't run.

Custom, only one ever designed and built interiors, heavily welded frame, all sharp metal turned bed rack and a roof top I made for $75. Power pedal, injen intake system, cat delete, summit racing brake proportioning valve controlled on the fly, slightly adjusted or perhaps unrecognizable ECM, built in under bed storage, high clearance rear built with 1/4" on a 6011 1/8" rod at 120 amps, 360 degrees of led light, a PA and CB, on board air, on board propane (to cook food), on board fridge made from an old red bull fridge found on some guys man cave built into the storage cubby under the back seat, imported tranny and clutch from a good friend over in Europe to replace this aisin junk we get, combined 32 gallons fuel capacity, 18 5 gallons of water storage, built in gun locker under RTT, and all it cost was to hear the wife ramble on about upset neighbors at 2 in the morning every night since I bought that damn truck..
Gives the term "dude don't worry it's military grade" something to mull over

As previously stated, EMP range is vastly over estimated. Unless you live near ground zero, or an EMP attack specifically occurs within your horizon line of sight (i.e. close by within a few hundred miles) then you will not be directly affected. EMP detonations must occur in high altitude to impact a larger area. There are just too many variables for anyone to give a proper answer on some random Tacoma forum. Presuming you are within range, any computer chips (ECU) in your truck would be toasted, but the wires would be ok, its not like it will melt everything down, but your ECU and EFI will not work. Real preppers keep all the sensitive electronics inside a microwave.
