I can’t remember how long I’ve had this one, but the battery doesn’t last for shit and it’s missing pieces of glass on the screen.

I’ve kept my 2016 SE alive for 5 years now. I’ve replaced the screen 3 times, charge port twice, and the home button once. I’m going to be deeply saddened when the new iOS updates render it useless.

Purchased it for like $200 used in like new condition. My parts phones all came from an unnamed government agency that would’ve taken a hammer to them before trashing them. This is the last iPhone that you can repair easily.

Seller said after researching it some that it might be a placebo kind of tune. Since the 1st gen ECUs haven’t been cracked right?

JET is an older performance company that back in the day you could send your computer to and they would take the ECU apart and edit the tune on the stock chip. It's questionable

The company is dead now though, no warranty anymore... so he should open it to see if there is evidence of a change

yeah that's what I suspected, to my knowledge it can't be done and OVTune was close for the 03/04s I think but gave up on it to focus on 3rd gen stuff.

I do think it could be edited the old fashioned way, everyone is looking for a way to make it openly editable through the OBDII port and I think that is unlikely.

Like desoldering components and editing values on a computer. Similar to reprogramming the digital odometers but more complicated?

My $300 Chinesium Blackview with FLIR camera is all I'll ever need. I gave up on upgrading to the newest phone tech years ago.

Yeah back in the early days of EFI it was EEPROM chips that could be desoldered and a socket soldered in place so you could take it out and edit the hex values (or build a GUI to translate normal values to hex for you) and then burn the chip and put it back to test. We did this for GM TBI stuff a lot, Nissans, etc... Toyota has always been a bit more ahead of the curve and instead of using and EEPROM they use normal RAM and a System on a Chip to process everything like an actual computer. So we have to essentially find a way to read the memory pipelines after the map is loaded from the Chip's ROM and then edit it in the RAM and save it somewheres (arduino maybe) so every time the computer reload the map from its ROM our changed values remain... in fact maybe replacing the RAM with our own device is a better idea... anyway that's the basic idea, but we also would be starting from scratch no idea what memory registers correlate to what functions.

T-Mobile by way of the Sprint acquisition. Guess I could go talk to them and see. If not I think I'll order a refurb Pixel 5 from that link @Wulf posted, seems like a legit deal and less money than what I paid for this 3a two years ago.
