Saw this on the market place for $500. Seller states that they have under 10k miles on them? What do you guys think, pass or worth it?

Assuming they're not worn out seems like a decent deal.

Doubly so if they can be rebuilt.

From the pictures they look like they are in decent enough shape, I know fox shocks are rebuildable too. Might just have to check them out lol.

just have to find out if anyone local does rebuilds haha.

IFPs are harder to rebuild, which is why we do not offer service work on them at all. Likely would need to send to Fox directly

Does this go for the 2.0 rears as well?

Ah bummer, I'll have to do some more research then. What would you recommend for easier rebuilds and better longevity? Still new to the suspension game and have been trying to narrow it down a little more. Just saw these for about $1k cheaper than new haha.

Price is pretty reasonable considering the fronts are about $480/ea new. They are serviceable but require some specialty tools so not everyone can perform a rebuild. Will likely have to send directly back to the manufacturer for servicing as Accutune stated.

If they really only have 10k miles, it could potentially be a good buy to try and get another 20k out of them but it’s a risk. Also depends on what you want out of your setup. You won’t get the same performance as a 2.5” shock with resi.

Are these the same listing with a leaking rear and a broken stud on one of the coilovers that was posted last week?

Please forgive my ignorance. But why are $500 shocks only potentially good for 30K miles?

They are serviceable so your $500 takes you further as long as you maintain them. They are also more performance oriented than OE shocks which typically requires more maintenance.

I use 30k as a recommendation to be conservative. Plenty of people have ran 40-50k without issue but I like to play it safe.

Not sure honestly, these are listed on Facebook marketplace around NW Montana. They have been up for a couple weeks now, so I'm guessing they are probably shot... haven't had a chance to personally look at them.

probably just save up and get something that is easier and less lol pensive to rebuild/service.

I suggest talking to Fox for rebuild details, might not be as bad as some suggest. If I recall correctly they have a pretty good rebuild program. I never needed it because I sold my rig that had the 2.0 stuff at around 45k with hard overland use. Then compare to King anf other top notch companies directly off this forum.

I have them on my 1st gen dcsb, installed them and I didn’t get 2 inches of lift. I had to take them off and put on spring compressors to turn the collars. The threaded body is soft aluminum and the springs are 600lb, major cons IMO

$500 is a steal for that setup! I'd swoop them up
