Nah. I haven't even done that on the 4runner yet. Just the Subie.

That's a hell of a deal and totally fixable... shame about the front end on those though, it was all good until the grille, bumper, and those headlight....

Worth checking out though for the price. I'd be worried there are more issues than mentioned though.

 

I think the ABS is going off becasue it's jammed in low range or the range sensor is broken and its jammed in 2WD but thinks it is in low. Unplug the case sensors and I bet it acts normal save for the CEL and a case that needs replacement from an idiot driving locked

Double cab seems like the right option for you really. Although kids and dog boxes probably don't mix much for the first few years. So maybe just a nice AWD car and your current truck are better

F150’s are on my watch list along with its equivalents across the big 3.

Chevy is the way to go for simple and well supported if you go big three. The Chryslers are disasters and parts are surprisingly spendy and the Fords are more complicated than they need to be.
