Then we're on the same starting line. No excuses. I'm probably the one person that has comparable wages and a similar public sector employer. You even make more than I do, so you have a head start.

I'm just asking you to enter into a friendly competition to better ourselves and shit-talk. Is that so hard?

@Slashaar CZ USA is pretty much always hiring for test firing and QC. They promote from within and your experience might get your foot in different more better doors.
I was working for tax free cash, necessities, and lodgings most of the time. But yeah lol

How old?!?! Seriously, it's such a great breed if the lineage is good. Do you have pictures?

Time for me to drop the new album and release the CAD library. #LESGO2022

Yeah. Either a hiphop album or a comedy special. We'll see which one the labels and streaming services pick up first ;)

get into software development and you can get to 4 pretty easy. Even 5 after a while if you are any good. Plus you can be fully remote and work whenever you want.

lots of other job in tech can too.

    Basically this lol

You could even start out doing something in support to get your foot in the door somewhere. A lot of people start out doing support for a year or two then move up from there as they learn.

    https://grow.google/certificates/it-support/

With zero IT background that’s probably your easiest entry point. There’s tons of those jobs out there and you can easily switch companies every few years for 10%+ bumps in pay as you progress. Every switch I’ve made has been significantly more than that..

most developers are either self taught or have a 2/4 year degree in computer science / information systems or something else.

Honestly, IT work isn’t about knowing everything. It’s about being able to understand the problem and find the answer. I’ve had multiple interviews where they ask something and my response is “I’ve got no idea but if you give me a couple minutes I can google it and find you the answer”

Starting jobs are around $50k and you can be well past $100k with some experience depending on what path you go
