Do you have a good fabricator/mechanic. The frame rails would need to be spliced into the front of your existing frame between the cab mounts.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
    Best of Luck!

I paid $400.00 for a running driving truck With excellent tires .

The frame needs some tender love.

I was just going to buy the tires for $250.00 The seller asked what would i offer for the Truck I said $400.00 he said sold Then carried out a bunch of new parts and the title . My friend drove my vehicle i drove the 2000 Tacoma the 100 miles home.

Hey OP, thank you for the PM and sorry no reply. Haven't been on TW for several days.

Like some of the comments above, I thought you were considering the sale as more or less a "part out", or knowing it would take $4-6000 even for a DIY repair. $6000 is quite a bit more than I could invest in it. Over and above frame or repair sections costs, there are always so many smaller parts, like brake/fuel lines, cab/spring/shock mounts, fuel tank and straps, etc to figure are likely in need of replacement. Maybe not, but anybody looking at that repair has to assume so when thinking costs.

If you do get down in the $1500-2000 range, I would be interested. I am close enough to come get it. My Dad needs a replacement for his truck. Too far gone to repair.

I hope you do get more $$$, or try to repair yourself. It would be a great learning experience for you. And, anybody saving a 1st gen is doing a good deed!

Hey, I'm just trying to help tamp down your lust for rust. :)

That project list of your's needs to find equilibrium about where it is now.

While the body probably is "worth" more than a grand, not really in it's current state. You could definitely part it out and make quite a bit more, but part outs rarely end up getting rid of *everything* unless you sell the whole thing. Whoever buys it is going to end up with a bunch of stuff left over that's going to be sitting in their driveway.

No one is going to buy a "parts" truck based on the value of the individual parts.

This is the fact. You at 100% correct.
When I buy a new parts truck there are a lot things to consider. What parts did the truck have... Manual hubs, v6, what trim level, how bad is the truck damaged.
If I pay $1,000 for it I need to make at least $5,000 to make it worth my time getting it and striping it.
And there is always a bunch of random parts that sit around in my storage for a long time.

This is how o view things too.. but my side is fixing them. For me to make this truck 100% again and not lose my ass it would be a 2k truck max. Sadly the 4 cylinder auto really hurts it

And that's why I fixed the 4runner. I'm only about $1500 total cost into it.

    Had to look it up.

In the Maintenance section of the manual for my truck:

"Wash the vehicle immediately after driving on salted roads"

The lawyers got their prose in...
