I just finished the alternator and battery replacement. Never have I seen the charging system that happy, even the voltage at the PCM.

I saw a maintained voltage of the PCM at a constant 13.7 volts (saw it dip to 13.6 ONCE for a micro second) and saw a consistent 14.1-14.3 volts at the main battery. Things like rolling multiple windows up or down and running the radio at high bass power didn't even scathe the new setup.

One thing that the new alternator had wrong with it was the bottom nubs positioning of the OE positive terminal. It made me have to reposition it reverse of the way it normally mounts and so it is a little tight. I'm too lazy to go back in there and correct because it would require I slide the back cover off the alternator which means I'd have to go in there and basically redo the job, but I saved the old terminal post for in the future if I want to go in there and correct it, I'll have the piece to do so.

Otherwise. I'm very happy with all of it and the way it turned out.

If you spray water/meth or have a 7th injector it’s only matter of time before the engine will eat up that foam seal.

My vote is that foam seal is over-rated

my thought is its flapping like a degraded flag half blocking ports. noted. will likely delete, just to see if there's a difference.

I think if you are already spraying to cool the intake air temps why not give more real estate for that air to move through. And it’s a no-brainer in the winter :D

I did all that twice. Last time I took the lid off the gasket was barely hanging on so I said to hell with it. Think the meth injection doesn't help the gasket or make it necessary anyways.

I haven't taken mine apart yet (still need to order the parts for an oil change while I'm in there), but are you adding RTV between the lid and seal or the main body and seal? Or both sides and just smash it shut?

For me just the seal and mount location on the intercooler. The S/C has a lip on the intake plenum that presses into the foam forming the seal which forces all the air into the intercooler. I just added sealant to one side of the foam where it mounts onto the intercooler proper.

Did you happen to get any photos while it was apart? Since I have to beg for garage time (no snow on partners car), I want to make sure I have everything on hand and I haven't seen the inside of the intercooler and/or lid yet.

I didn't but a quick google of the Tacoma Magnuson Supercharge Installation Manual will pull up the .pdf. In here, it shows pics when installing the lid of the supercharger where the intercooler mounts and the single bolt on top of the lid that holds the intercooler in place to the lid. It is the one M8x1.25, IIRC, in between the coolant feed hoses going into the top of the lid. You can't confuse it with the lid bolts since it is MUCH larger. I recommend draining some coolant down before removing the lid and intercooler from the lid since it will be full of coolant. I couldn't accomplish it with the lid still attached to the coolant lines, but some may have a better way.

You don’t have to drain any SC coolant to work on these TRD Blowers. The heat exchanger and intercooler are a completely closed system.

when you pull off the lid, the hoses running from
the heat exchanger and reservoir bind it up. I couldn’t cleanly flip the lid over to clean and RTV the gasket without removing the feed and return coolant lines from the top of the lid

So I got word from the machine shop. The sleeves they have had and been "working" on my blocks for about 3 weeks now that they have had it 2 months at this point. They are telling me now that the sleeves are wrong and the supplier don't have the rights ones in stock or know when or if they will. besides the fact that I'm pissed over this whole ordeal, they told me if I can find sleeve somewhere they can still do it and I can still install sock size pistons at this point, no machining has been done, they say the block can be bored .010" over. Either way I would be buying a new set of pistons. I have looked around and found a set of sleeves for a 6cyl diesel that toyota makes. I have only found them on ebay at this point coming from United Emirates. The estimated shipping times don't seem bad almost false, about 1.5 weeks. I already have .020" over pistons due to they were they only thing I could find at the time of ordering. I can not return the pistons they have been balanced with the internals.

Does anyone have info or have machined a block that could add some insight? I'm leery of going .010 over on the stock block. Any input on going with stock pistons?

damn. that sucks to delay info like that.
idea- australia or new zealand. thats where kelford is. maybe there is a gem to be found there. yeah shipping isnt fast but it could be an option. just trying ideas. if you need different pistons i may buy yours if i can find sleeves too.
