It's a dirty, tiresome game and I for one can't wait until I can just order the vehicle I want from the manufacturer directly.

I have a available 2022 4Runner pro coming in Lime Rush. Adjusted market value is $3500 over sticker. $54,226+$3500=$57,763 plus tax tags And after reading what dealers are marking them up 15k is nuts. Where I work before Covid we sold Pros at msrp and at times invoice. Had people from Florida fly in to Delaware and drive the pros away. can’t believe we dont have a deposit on it yet.

Since you are military I would check Navy Fed because their rates are low. If you are an E-7 or above you can get a 1% discount off the rate. I have them and USAA, but Navy Fed beats the rate every time (even without the discount) so I have used USAA maybe once for any type of loan.

Thanks for the info. I walked in to the dealer with a loan secured through a local CU, one of their preferred lenders at 2.19% so will probably try to refi with them.

    Just joined…first post.

Ordered SR5 DCSB 4WD with basic tech package…and that’s it. Signed “agreement” for MSRP. Put non refundable $500 deposit down 1/29. Dealer guessed end of April. Not financing, but didn’t tell them that! Sold my other car to Carvana and got $3k more than I paid for it a year ago. Sharing a vehicle with DW until the truck comes in. Glad I’m not in a hurry!

I got extremely lucky thanks to the inventory spreadsheet!!!

1/29 - Put down deposit at Longo Toyota in Socal for a Black OR DCSB 4x4 with premium package; no idea where on the list I am or how long it will take
2/7 - discover the inventory spreadsheet in this forum and start calling dealers in CA and neighboring states with allocations of my build - most charging markup, only sell locally, or have to make a deposit in person
2/10 - at 10am get a text from Zurab at Victory Toyota in San Bruno who has my exact build on the lot. Starts w/ a 3k markup. Then to $1,499 accessory package. Then got them down to MSRP if I come to buy it that day. Hopped on the next flight from Burbank to SF at 12pm and get to the dealer around 2pm. Test drive and finish all the paperwork by 4pm. Drove back home and got back to LA 11pm that same night!

Victory Toyota had more than a few trucks available on the lot. Might be worth giving them a call if you're in CA

Anyone know where trucks made in Guanajuato going to Wyoming go through "processing"? I know they go by rail to Texas, and there's a processing center in Houston, so I assume that's it.

I noticed the same thing. LED lights always came with the premium package, but I did not want roof or leather seats. I eneded up buying a Sport, to get LED lights and Advance Tech.

My 2001 SR5 V6 is terminal due to rust. 243k, 20+ years of faithful New England service but this winter has been one brutal blow after another of broken significant components. The cost/benefit ratio probably favored replacement long ago; now it’s finally time. What a bummer.

So, I inquired with several dealerships about 3 weeks ago. Yesterday I put down a deposit on a 2022 TRD OR double cab long bed in Lunar Rock with with tech package, tonneau cover, exhaust tip, bed lighting for MSRP. I wanted the most basic TRD OR long bed I could get. The only option I actually wanted was LED headlights, which this doesn’t have and I’m not holding out hope they’ll add it (I asked, awaiting answer). Frustrating they wouldn’t remove the stuff I don’t want (tonneau cover, exhaust tip, specifically). I’m looking forward to the four doors and modern amenities.

Dealer says late April or May.

Almost everyone I've talked to online or in person seems to prefer a long bed, or at least it should be roughly 50/50. What I can't figure out is why all the dealerships I've talked to act like it's unheard of to want a DCLB Tacoma, and why Toyota seems to make 20 short beds for every long bed. I had heard "Well it's almost the same length as a 1/2 ton", well yeah, it's close, but it's also way narrower and still turns just fine. It also has almost the same amount of bed volume as the Tundra 5'.5" bed.

Nice bro, its interesting you really wanted LED headlights. Your in snow country right? The new toyota lights are fucking terrible. I will probably switch my brand new PROS lights back to halo in the Toyota parking lot. They are terrible! They ice up almost instantly I'm not even sure how LED lights made it past highway safety inspection. Just yesterday I drove from Denver back home to Northern colorado at dusk. I stupidly drove my wifes lunar rock PRO 4runner... had 2 stop 4 times to break up ice on headlights. My older tacoma from 07.. I've never had 2 clear the lights..

It's funny, all us older toyota owners want new trucks, then end up making them g2 in some way

Wow, this is a great point! I live in Minnesota and wanted LEDs, but after reading this it sounds like that could have a real downside when the snow flies up here.

No kidding. Thanks for the advice. I’ve seen that phenomenon on traffic lights but never considered it on vehicle LEDs.

I wonder if rain-x on the headlight housing would help with the ice accumulation?
