Fairly certain the massive science headlight thread said the OEMs are still the best choice performance-wise. But either would be a good idea!

I've had both. Go OEM. Seriously.

Both are better than the halogens by miles, but the OEM is just that much better.

Just got a text with the real VIN. It's been built!

Hello everyone, I’m new here. I’ve put a deposit on a 2022 Trail Edition and starting to see them be delivered in the US but wondering if anyone has received one in Canada yet? I’ve been waiting 4 months already and can’t get any info from the dealership other than they are allocated for one but they don’t have a delivery or build date or even the colour. From what they say it’s whatever Toyota sends them.

That seems odd. My dealer had one posted on their site in early December and knew the build & approximate delivery dates, the color, and all the options... and it was a good 2 months before it even got built. Maybe the allocation system works differently in Canada

From what I’m told, Toyota has allocated one trail edition per dealership and they don’t have a say in the colour, it’s whatever they send them. On the Toyota website in Canada the trail is only offered in AG and LR which I like both colours so no problem there, it’s just the waiting!

I thought the morimoto v2 had better light output but the oem had better build quality

I'm kind of leaning that way because build quality is supposed to be a lot better. And I'm going to add plenty of lighting so output isn't as important

What did you like the oem better than morimoto

I think most, if not all, of us are US-based, so we may not be helpful on this. 1 TE per dealership is just wild, that's going to be truly rare up there if so. Best of luck to you! I'd say call every dealer you can that you'd be willing to travel to and have them put you on the waiting list, so when they get one in, they can call you!

There's a Canadian thread for people in the "waiting room" so to speak, I would get on there, they will have more info

I'm in Canada as well. Put my deposit down on a LR Trail back in early September. They told me 3 - 4 months wait usually but that was actually 3 - 4 months from when the "order was filled" whatever that means. Anyway, got a call mid-November that the order was filled with an ETA of mid-Feb. Spoke with dealer last week and its pushed to mid-March as of now. They say they don't have any other info either besides the delivery date but as far as I know the truck is exactly as I wanted it.

I had ordered in AG but I’d be happy with LR also, the colour looks great with the bronze rims!! I just keep checking with the dealer at the beginning of every month.

Installed the handle covers. I'll have to wait for the rest of the decals as I've already got the truck filthy, and the detailer said not to wash for 10 days so ceramic coating could cure (I hope the dirt wont effect the cure)

Trying to sell my boxes on sales page here, some guy mentioned he got 100 for his…someone else has been trying to sell them a long time too. They really are impractical, I may try to run one of them and take one out to free up space. I’d almost then take more space if it made them more functional. They’re in that no mans land of too small to be useful but too big to use the bed

Picked up my first Taco this afternoon - a Trail Edition in Army Green - and absolutely love it! Haven't had a chance to take any decent pictures yet since it started raining and snowing on us right when they finished the inspection and cleaning. Looking forward to getting out and playing with it more once the weather clears up a bit this week.

No mark up on it and I got it for $500 under MSRP which I feel is the best I could hope for in this market.

I put a deposit on an allocation for a Lunar Rock Trail Edition at my local dealer on 1-02 and was told the build date was 1-25. I just talked to my salesman today and he said it hasn't been built yet and he doesn't even have a new estimate for me -___-.

Tech package, predator steps and mudguards with an msrp of $42,013 and no markup. All the mods I bought for it already showed up. Now I just hope the truck comes sooner than later lol
