I rarely drive the truck, it's parked in my yard under a canopy out of the sun, and just today I noticed the fender flare looks like this. It looks as though I hit something but I definitely did not since I didn't move the truck. Also looks like some sort of heat gun was used on it or something but there was nobody even around. The truck does sit probably 6 ft from a tankless water heater, but I don't think it gets hot enough to do this. Interestingly, almost The identical thing happened to the plastic panel on my Jeep Grand Cherokee that was parked in the same spot. Not only does it look really warped, it has these crazy lines on the outside too. Also, anyway to fix it?

I’m betting you have one hell of a sunlight reflection off one of the windows of the adjacent building(s) or something. Check periodically throughout the day and you’ll probably see that fender lit up… well, like the sun!

I assume those are bare plastic? If so do the following.

Clean with an all purpose cleaner. Coat with GTechniq C4.

You can also try 303 Protectant.

Sunnavabitch! It's parks next to a shed and there's a window right there. That was my first thought too and I totally forgot about the window. It was barely like 85 here today though.

Really? I'm not being sarcastic when I say I think these have a few thousand miles left easy.

Yes, those are the fender flares from the base model. I'm assuming there's no way to fix it now?

And a few hours of a reflection can do that?

Clean them. Then coat with C4. It will last you at least a year. Use it on my exterior plastic. Excellent product.

I use it on my Tonneau Cover and it lasts at least 4 months before I have to reapply it in this Hot New Mexico sun.

I’ve used all sorts of exterior products on plastic. Plenty of good ones out there. A lot of folks like 303 cause it’s cheap. I got tired of watching it run down my bedsides after dew. C4 or Carpro Dlux will last a year before needed to reapply.

It’s not the sun that is an issue, it’s water. As long as it stays dry it’s fine but since it’s a dressing the first rain and it’s gone.

Legally, maybe. But I'm not one to push tires to the legal limits. Once 1/2 or more of the tread is gone braking distance on even dry pavement is significantly longer. I ain't saying to replace tires when 1/2 the tread is gone, but it's time to start thinking about new tires on your truck. I wouldn't want to be driving on wet pavement with those. The risk isn't worth waiting a couple more months.
