For thw TC uca gusset...why do they have the angle all the way to the frame then go straight at the frame? Would it be just as strong if you put the bend to go verticle right after the bushing?

 

Im trying to figure out what your talking about but nothing is happening

 

Instead of the sides going at an angle the whole way down what if you make them go vertical right after the bushing. strength? Im guessing the loads on the bolt is not up and down?

 

Nah not worth the work plus I think that design is stronger more material being welded in.

 

why mess with a good thing?

 

The whole arm is tilted that way. I would think the bend would actually make it weaker and not be in-line with the way the arm pivots

 

I dont understand...how much material would you lose going straight down? 1 square in?

the arm is tilted yes, but isnt the load on the arm vertical? the suspension travel is vertical so load vertical?

 

Not when you stuff the front end and the front tire jams into the back corner of the wheel-well

 

Only if you drop your truck straight down and you have no forward speed. If you hit a large bump at speed why would the force only be up and not backwards towards the cab as well?

I have a 3" lift right now and am saving up for either an All Pro LT kit or a 6" Pro Comp lift. I use my truck as my daily driver and trailing/rock crawling. As far as clearance and performance off roading goes, which one would be a better option?

I really like to push my truck in where it can go and what it can climb.

 

I'd go LT over 6" anyday for any kind of wheeling

 

Yup. You will have more articulation.

 

the performance suspension and not the mall crawler lift kit will serve you better when looking for increased off road ability...get the all pro LT.
