Are you guys all running a UNI filter? I feel like I'm late to the game on this. Do 2015s really need it? Any downside?

Crash installed one on his old truck/now mine. No downside unless you try to go into Toyota for warranty, so just keep the old parts in case anything ever happens and you need to exercise the TSB to save $1200+ for the SAIS failing.
Bonus, is that the plastic cover still fits on top of the UNI filter if you want the OEM look.

Absolutely no issue. You want to do this no matter the year. What happens is the little piece of foam filter breaks down. Once it does, those pieces makes their way through the system and into the valves causing significant bigger issues. This eliminates the foam from being there but still filters the air.

I never did it with my first one.

Someone did it to the one I have now.

therefore, others are smarter than me.

I deleted the SAIS all together and happy with the extra engine space

Still have the original parts/foam filter pieces? I think I'm still under warranty and could put those in my parts bin just in case.
I'm just down the road from you.

I had done that filter mod before taking it off, so no foam piece, but I'm saving the rest in case I fail emissions next year

I’ve been reading a lot on the jd 2.5” LT kit just for shits and giggles. That is a pretty sharp kit. Their sealed uniballs and the use of the EMF uniballs are really nice. Those EMF’s remind me of icons delta joint. The kit is supposed to be really nice as a daily driver too.

It's probably the one I'm going with after paying my truck off next summer. Especially since they confirmed I could still use my current King shocks till I saved up more money to replace them with proper LT shocks.
